Signed up for service for a new construction home with no established lawn. TruGreen sent out one person last September with a hand spreader because they had our 1+ acre lot listed as less than 1/4 acre (we corrected this twice and they kept changing it back). Some of the seed took, but most of the yard is still dirt in April. They keep ignoring our requests to re-seed the lawn and keep sending out people to fertilize bare dirt. Someone was supposed to come and evaluate the yard today and instead they just spread more fertilizer and left! My husband called and TruGreen said that they can't schedule aeration and seeding until August or September... but they want to continue treatments through the summer. An entire year wasted. We cancelled our service and they are refusing to refund any of the money we wasted on them. Ignorant, greedy, worthless company. Avoid at all costs!

(All the pics I uploaded show up on the phone, not desktop) TruGreen strikes again by destroying another part of my lawn - when they were SUPPOSED to be coming out to FIX the problem that they made the first time! I just can't win. HUGE chunks of grass were pulled up by the aeration machine because of what the tech said, "The grass was wet so the blades pulled up the grass." It is 8 am in the morning, yes the grass is wet from the dew. If you saw this prior to starting, why would you continue with the rest of the yard? On top of that, they left a mess in my driveway and sidewalk. I asked if he was going to clean it up, the tech responded, "I don't have anything to clean it up with." Bottom line: if you use TruGreen, be prepared to have your lawn DESTROYED. I'm honestly not being a picky o difficult customer, they just keep really messing up my lawn! My neighbors ask me, "What happened to your lawn." I told them TruGreen and that's all I have to say and they know the rest of the story. I am beyond dissatisfied and dissapointed.

I am writing this today because I have got to a point with Tru Green where the company is no longer even trying to remedy what they have done to my yard. A year and a half ago we contracted the local Tru Green branch out of Upper Marlboro, MD because we anticipated we would be moving and wanted to make our very nice year even better. Up until that point we established a yard from seed on a new lot and did a pretty good job. True Green promised that they could maintain what gains we had made and keep the yard a deep, weed-free green. Since contracting with Tru Green our grass has been repeatedly killed and the weeds have been the only thing to thrive. Repeated calls to Tru Green have prompted promises of various managerial notifications without any remedy. A number of managers, mainly Gary Rigby, have offered on numerous occasions to come out to inspect the damage but have never looked at our property. I hope there is someone in the company who can fix my yard before our house goes on the market next month, because the whole reason we went with the company in the first place was to make the yard more appealing for a buyer. Last year Tru Green killed new grass and potted plants when they treated late-season weeds. After months of calling the branch offered to reseed the yard, which was done in October. Because the seeding was done so late in the season much of the seed never germinated. Gary Rigby promised to fix the problem this year, but I have not heard back. The first application of this year was not effective so Tru Green came back out and ended up striping my lawn. No one ever came out to inspect this damage. Months later my lawn is still striped. I called to have an abundance of crab grass killed, but the only thing Tru Green eliminated was my lawn. The crab grass is still thriving, and no one has come to look at the damage, despite numerous calls. I have pictures of all this damage to support my claims. I have not paid my last two bills because I do not think they are doing anything but killing my grass. Weeds are thriving, by lawn is striped, and my grass is dead. I would never recommend this company, even though they are the most inexpensive. Pay the extra money and preserve your lawn and sanity. It is possible to see the before and after effects by looking at the attached photos.
