  Arrow Environmental Service (formerly Miller) was been contracted to perform lawn pest control on my lawn for more than 2 years. At first they did a great job in getting rid of weeds including crabgrass and bugs. In summary, the lawn looked great and we were very satisfied. Then the service changed hands to Arrow. Since then crabgrass, other weeds, yellowing and thin patches in the lawn have gone unchecked. Last year I had to excavate and replace 200 sq ft of sod due to crabgrass. I spoke with their technician about 6 months ago and he mentioned that Arrow does not treat crabgrass but I could treat it myself with baking soda. I could only assume that Arrow does not have access to baking soda. Just this last month I again had to replace another 200 sq ft of sod due to crab grass. Each time I replace the sod it costs me $300.00 for the sod only. I do the work myself so I have no estimate for labor but would assume it would be about $300.00. I pay Arrow $70.00 each time you perform a treatment and I still had to pay $600.00 to replace sod because they were ineffective. As a result, I am very dissatisfied with Arrow and feel they owe me for the replacement sod expenses. I mentioned this to them in a call on 8/5 and the gentleman on the phone said a manager would call me to discuss how they could rectify the situation. I have not heard from them.

  Lawn and pest companies are tough to review. I have been with Miller's for about 4 years and I'm mostly satisfied, however, I do feel sometimes neglected by the service but other times not. I fully believe you can't judge a company like this off of one experience but rather the entire experience over a couple of years. I stay with Miller because they are the small guy on the block and so I trust them more and have been mostly taken well care of. Miller's have been good about keeping schedules and the lawn seems fine, not great, but mostly weed free although I do have one particular dead spot that they can't seem to fix which showed up over the past 18 months. They do come out for service calls when requested and sometimes even the owner will get involved. I had requested and spoke to someone about getting my soil tested in the new lawn dead spot but that just never happened. With that said, some of my neighbors who use Miller's have phenomenal lawns so some of this is out of their control, I will admit. Overall, this is a really great company for lawn and pest service. It's not perfect but they are generally really good about giving attention and supplemental service when needed. The office staff are very friendly as well.

  We are somewhat satisfied but find it difficult to get service from the office staff, get the tech here and on schedule and to keep up with a large and challenging yard. We have been with Miller for several years. I do find in general with lawn services that they start out enthusiastically then go downhill gradually. The salesman in the beginning promised us on time, prompt service, but I now wonder if he has moved on. If you want a pristine lawn you might want to look elsewhere. Personal service is a thing of the past.
