    Daryl and his crew did a fantastic job clearing some majorly overgrown areas in our yard and cleaning up the landscaping. The crew was thorough, fast and did excellent work. Pricing was fair. Would highly recommend this team for any landscaping needs. Will definitely be using them again in the future!

    See the photo. Nearly $2,000 for a row of 15 arborvitae trees with multiple trees dying within a couple weeks. They repeatedly weaseled their way out of being responsible including an outright lie - that we should have bought the "optional replacement warranty" that was NEVER discussed or in any of his emails. They ended up replacing only four trees, for no other reason than his stating, "I have to make a living." We replaced another three on our own. I am honest with all my contractors. The vast majority have been honest and accountable in return. None have been as dishonest and unaccountable as Madden. Update. Their response below is full of lies. A politician might taken lessons from them for this kind of messaging. They never discussed or offered the "replacement warranty" to me or my wife and it is not listed in any of their quotes or other communications. The issue of our not following watering instructions is a joke. Madden is simply the kind of business that will not be accountable for their work. More than likely his supplier of the trees is of low quality and price. I have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars with dozens of home contractors of all types over many years. I gladly write positive reviews and recommendations for the vast majority who are honest, competent, and take responsibility for their work. Madden does not come close to the level of quality or honesty I have dealt with and for the price of three extra trees, thousands of people get to see this warning.

    We are sorry to hear that this customer was not satisfied, and we would like to share our side of the story. We planted the trees that were all in excellent condition on July 11th, in the bed that we installed for them. Watering instructions were sent to the customer, and when they reached out to us a few weeks later about one of the trees, we explained that we do not guarantee plants as there are many variables that are beyond our control as to why a plant may not survive, and that is reflected in our pricing. The price we pay our nurseries does not include cost of labor to select, transport and plant the tree along with other costs incurred for overhead. I informed the customer's wife that If we were to offer a guarantee for the trees, the price we charged would have been considerably higher, but we do not, and have never offered optional warranties. We returned in good faith, and moved a tree from the end of the row, to replace the one that had died. We suggested that perhaps the trees were receiving too much water in conjunction with the rainy summer, and to decrease the amount given . When questioned about planting during the summer, we had informed the customer that as long as the plants are watered correctly , there should no issue, as planting is done all summer long. When they reached out again , in regards to the four other trees that showed stress, we informed them, that in order to provide good customer service, we would replace them at our expense, but we could not continue to replace other trees if needed, moving forward. Our trees are never purchased from Lowes or Home depot etc., and our nurseries do not guarantee the trees purchased by contractors. If they die, we have to purchase new ones, of which we did for this customer. We also suggested at that time to customers wife , to wait until the fall, as it is a more forgiving season in regards to watering needs, since overwatering seemed to be the issue. We responded to the emails from the client on a timely basis, and tried our best to work within their schedule. It is not always easy to commit to a specific time, especially when our work is dependent upon the weather which has been quite challenging these past few months. When we returned to replace the four trees at our cost, the customer asked us to plant another two that they had purchased. We agreed to do so at a very nominal fee for the cost of our labor, and customer was not happy at all with this request. We planted excellent quality trees and provided the necessary information to care for them. As stated before, there are many reasons why a plant may not survive, and the blame cannot solely rest on our shoulders. We are a reputable company where customer service is a prime concern, and we have not had an issue with this in the past.

    Madden Landscaping is everything a landscaping business should aspire to be: prompt, experienced, and cost effective. Although there was a minor issue stemming from miscommunication, Daryl took time out of his schedule to personally fix the problem. Landscaping issues? Look no further than Madden. Note the website has numerous service awards from Angie's List. A+ results at a reasonable price.
