  I gave them one stars because they did come out regularly and attempted to do the job. I am a first time user and have done my own lawn maintance and my lawn looked fairly good. I wanted my lawn to look great so I decided to hire a professional lawn service for fertilization and weed control. All this information is my personal opinion of the experiences I had over the season. 1. Signed contract paid for a season, I was not informed at that time that the contract renewed automatically for the next season. I guess I should have read the contract. Called to cancel no luck phone service (which I had left a message with the phone service previously for a call back from the company that I never received) had to cancel by email which is the same place I found out about the automatic renewal. 2. No personal communication at all, unless you call the automatic email after each application, or if you consider talking to phone service personal communication from a company. I would have thought being a first time customer they would have looked at my lawn and ask me what my expectation for my lawn were and if the plan I paid for would not meet those exceptions, talk to me about a plan that would. 3.Mid season weeds started to take over my lawn so I asked the person putting the application on my lawn about weed control and was told that he believed they put weed control on my lawn so I showed him all the weeds and asked him what spot weed control product that I could put on the weeds that would not interfere with what he was using and was told he did not know but said someone from the company would let me know. I did not hear from anyone from the company, so I took the chance and did spot weed control on my lawn, and thank god I did, or most likely my whole lawn would have been infested with weeds. 4. I ask them to come and meet with me to talk about about my lawn (of course by email) they said they would have the manager come out and I had one more treatment so I said do not do the treatment until we meet, well next thing I know here comes the treatment without the meeting, I contacted them again (email) excuses although they did tried to make it right, it was to late I had enough. Why not do what you said you would do in the first place and live up to your commitment. I have never spoke to anyone from this company other than email. I think that is really sad. 5. End of season, I am very disappointed in the way Lawn Doctor does business and my lawn looks a lot worse then it did last season when I was doing it, and I do not call myself a professional.This has truly been an eyeopening experience and in my opinion a wast of good money.   Based on reviews, chose LD to apply weed control to a newly seeded lawn. After signing contract and making payment, couldn’t get a live person or call back to discuss schedule. Tech showed up unexpectedly several weeks later to apply fertilizer, not weed control as specifically requested. Cancelled services via email and follow up phone call based on the first experience. A month after cancellation, a tech returned and applied fertilizer to the next-door neighbor’s lawn, not ours, and made ruts in their yard in the process. Credit card was charged for the comedy of errors, however it was credited promptly.

  Phenomenal service and great professionalism. We appreciate how they care for our lawn as if they owned it themselves. Wealth of knowledge of their products and everything lawn care. Always on time and responsive to the ever changing needs the Michigan seasons throw at our lawn. Great personal and friendly service that I'm never afraid of recommending. Awesome job!
