    Here are the reasons we canceled the request to work with Larry's lawn or Larry's Lawn & Services: 1. Lack of Communication. 2. Requiring an additional appointment to review things we already took the time to go over with you. 3. Lack of follow through. 4. Not filling out the "Questionnaire", to assist us in verifying your companies legitimacy and legality. 5. Not providing a valid email to start out the conversations. I truly hope this doesn't just get disregarded and forgotten. As well, I hope there can be things here to learn from and provide better service to your future customers. This will be the final correspondence from us.

    --Pros and Cons from Bid Experience-- Besides the normal price, quality, time that most people look for in a bid, I also look for someone who can text to communicate, and who doesn't mind teaching from their expertise. I love to ask questions and learn from professionals. That was a large factor in whom I chose whenever bids came in similar (painter, electrician, plumber, roofer). --Pros-- Unlike many fencing companies, if they damage sprinklers, they have the license and experience to fix them on the spot (and do so). Larry's L&S can communicate via text (asynchronous communication, allows people to respond when they have a minute!). Larry's L&S provides a detailed estimate of the process with a total (does not divide between supplies and labor costs), so you know all of the work that would go into your project. 30 years experience! The owner is on site for projects. --Cons-- Communication: I called and left a message to get an estimate, several days later, no call back. I called again, left another VM, and then found a mobile number to text on their website. The owner responded-- great! I actually prefer text communication. I had to prompt a couple times to continue the conversation to setup the estimate appt. Punctuality: I setup an estimate appt where I left work early. I texted 15 mins after they were supposed to be there, no response. I left 50 mins past our appt time to take someone to the airport. I got a text saying they'd sent someone, and he left because I wasn't there, with no acknowledgement of being late or an apology. I reminded him that I'd said I was not available at that middle afternoon time. The owner offered to come by at 5:30/6-- great! Interaction: The walkthrough was perfunctory and the owner talked through me rather than with me. It being end of day, I get him wanting to be done. I asked my list of questions about technique, process, insurance, fence care, etc. Price: They came in $1,400 and $1,100 higher than the two other reputable bids I obtained. I don't know if the difference rests in supplies or labor. When I wrote to let them know I was going with someone else, thanked the owner for his time & expertise, and let him know the reason for choosing someone else (large cost difference), he responded with " Fencing is Like Every other Product Out there , We Get What We Pay for." Nowadays that is factually incorrect: if you're coming in 77% higher in your bid than your competitors, maybe examine your business model. --Caveat-- My neighbor who recommended them had a great experience and loves her backyard, concrete pour, and fence. This is my experience and my evaluation.
