Hertzler's is a great place to go to for farm animal grain & feed, baked goods, and the most pure beef.  They raise their own.   The store is in an old building that has a lot of character.  Very well organized and assortment to choose. If asked very informative of anything they sell.  Family owned.  Good Reputation.  Better service than a Tractor Supply.

They have been very helpful during this virus.  They have the best meat and we buy all of our beef from them.  We pay over the phone and pick it up in front of the store.  Real service.

I've been going here for 4 years for chicks, hens, ducks, straw... You name it, we've probably bought it. They are always friendly and reliable when it comes to our flock care. Every chick and hen we've brought home has exceeded what we expect. Ordering breed specific poultry is so easy and the service is great. I always love days we have to go here because seeing the horses and cows as we drive in is honestly my favorite part. Their Red Sex Link hens have produced me an egg every single day since the day I brought them home and you can't beat the price they sell them for! I cannot say enough about this place!

The owner was very polite and helpful.  Very generously assisted when I inquired about a product promotion that had brought me to the store.
The store is quite charming.  Clean and well organized.  I will definitely continue to shop there whenever I am in the area.

Hertzler's is a great place to go to for baked goods, fresh eggs, and the most pure beef.  They raise their own.  The Mrs. bakes delicious breads.  The store location can be a little confusing for newcomers since it is a farm store that cannot be seen from the paved road.  Signage is good though.  Just turn into the gravel driveway, drive past the stable on the left.  Drive until you have to make a left turn in front of the house, and find a place to park.  The store is in an old building that has a lot of character.  Enjoy any creaks you hear in the floor.  They have farm and livestock supplies, toys, food, and chicks when they hatch.

We bought 14 chicks (hens) from Hertzier Farm back in March.  Out of the 14 supposed hens we now have 5 roosters and 9 hens.  We knew there was a chance for some of our Silkies to be roosters which accounts for 2 of the roosters but a mistake was made by the hatchery with the others.  I called to see what can be done and was basically told too bad- it happens.  I asked if I could call the hatchery and was told they are going to say the same thing- we make mistakes and they are not going to do anything about it.  I understand it can happen but that means 30% of the hens I bought are roosters.  The way I was raised when you make a mistake you apologize and try to make it right and correct your mistake.  Very dissatisfied with Hertzier (and whoever the hatchery is).  Won’t be using them again and if you use them just know you are on your own if you end up with roosters instead of hens:

I honestly do not write reviews unless i feel the need for it. Been going to this place to buy chickens for over a year now and it’s  always the same experience, but today they just killed it. The younger lady at the counter ALWAYS has an attitude about catching chickens. This is a farm job if you dont like it then find another job! If you’re not going to treat customers nicely then dont open up a face to face business!!  Rolling your eyes when i tell you i want to buy chickens and how many i want is SOO unprofessional.

We decided to start raising chickens and instead of going to the chain farm-supply store down the road, I decided to give Hertzlers a try.  I love supporting my local business owners. So when I was met with a cold, smug and condescending attitude, I was not only disheartened but shocked. How does a small, family owned and very openly religious  business conduct itself this way? On my first visit, I asked for tips on raising chicks and was told to look on a website if I needed information. Thats it, no advice or suggestions, just google it. Against my better judgement I ordered chicks from them, these chicks came from a hatchery in NM and I could have ordered them myself, so much for local. When picking up my chicks I was repeatedly told that I came too early. How is that possible when they had called and told me they were ready for pick up? Both times I was made to feel as if I were bothering them, in the way and my business wasn't valued. The one positive note is that my chicks are all doing well, but that is more credited to the hatchery.

It is a nice farm and feed store in the country close to home with plants for sale and chickens/turkeys. Chainsaws and trimmers, fencing and horse supplies, all kinds of bulk seeds, Bee supplies, hay and straw
