  This is the second year I've gotten soil from them - they have a good blend of topsoil, compost, and potting soil that's perfect for large raised beds. Very friendly and helpful with pricing that's reasonable for a local business.

  Don't count of them to follow through on commitments or return phone calls. Grass Roots came out to our house in March and diagnosed 5 of our pine trees with a fungus and told us they would put us on the calendar for spraying in early June. It is now August 1, and I have called Grass Roots 4 times, left 3 different messages and also emailed Chris directly about the spraying job and .... nothing. I find the lack of courtesy to return my phone calls really disappointing and poor customer service, especially since I have purchased dozens of plants and loads of mulch from them as we landscape our 11 acre property. On the other hand, the staff that work the store and help with plants are usually quite helpful. I just don't understand why they don't follow through on jobs they commit to or can't even have the courtesy to say "we're running behind, we'll get to it in X number of days."
