  I moved into Edgewild in late summer and decided while in the moving process to hire a lawn care team. I went with Cuttin' It Close as they were responsive and not booked up. Now I know why they were one of the few places not booked for the summer. I believe the team took advantage of the fact we were not living at the residence and did a mediocre job. By the time we reached our last mow service we were living at our new home. The mowers knew we were home as all the windows were open. The last mow was by far the best but not great compared to my neighbors. If they could of provided this kind of service the entire time I might have considered keeping them through the summer. A week after the final mow was done and over with. I receive a bill that showed not paid. This is impossible because as a new customer you prepay. I paid for 4 mows and only received 4 mows. I was then told that I got an extra cut the first week of service due to the length of the lawn when they first started. Why would this bill for the extra mow, done almost two months ago be received now versus intially? Needless to say I am disappointed with their services overall. I wouldn't recommend this company unless you are desperate. Only positive is that the office receptionist is friendly and responds quickly.

  Hello, We are very sorry to hear this negative response and we try really hard as a small business to keep positive reviews. CIC has been in business for 25 years and, especially this summer, we have been nearly 100% booked, especially given the short staffing we have experienced. We strive to accommodate all customers, if possible. I know you are new to this area but we have built a strong business, great reputation, and have hundreds of very happy customers. Sometimes when a house sits vacant prior to a sale the house doesn't get cut for a while before that, resulting in much longer grass than a typical cut. We made the decision to do a double cut to help the lawn get back to its normal height. Please understand that we cannot cut a lawn that is that overgrown just once or it would leave the property a mess. At $60/cut, resulting in $120 for a double cut, we do think this is competitive pricing for three of our lawn crew team members to dedicate time and services. As far as the inconstancy in cuts, it does seem that we may have only provided mediocre services while you weren't living there, but I hope you understand that we do not operate our business that way. We have many vacant properties and after we take care of the properties for some time they are much better than when we started. It does take time to get yards to where we are satisfied. Instead, it is likely due to a high turnover of staffing this past summer and inconsistent staffing. We are hoping that this will improve as we continue to interview and hire.
