I am very disappointed that it appears that Creative Landscapes does not stand behind its work. Eight years ago I hired Creative Landscapes to replace a long retaining wall with pressure treated ties all around my large in-ground swimming pool deck, and install stairs going from a small deck to the pool. Creative Landscapes supplied the timbers and other wood and materials needed and did the work. The work was done well and I was very happy. However, it turned out that the ties around the landing on the stairs and some of the wood on the railing by the steps supplied by Creative Landscapes were not pressure treated and disintegrated. Last spring and summer I telephoned and emailed Greg numerous times to come and take a look. He was unresponsive and only after persistently chasing he finally spoke with me. I sent photos. He said he would have to charge me for the work and although not happy I asked that he give me an estimate. I then could not get anyone from the Creative Landscapes to come out to give me an estimate (I kept calling and emailing) until finally someone came out in mid-August. Remember I started calling about this matter in the spring. Finally on September 15th after more chasing I received an estimate for $150 more than a price quoted by another reputable professional contractor. I asked Greg to match the price and he reduced his quote by $50 but refused to match the other price. Creative Landscapes supplied the materials (although purchased somewhere else; and they have no receipt of the wood purchase) and I feel that the least they could have done is to repair the landing at the going rate as quoted from another professional reputable contractor. In fact I think that under the circumstances he should have repaired the landing at a reduced cost. The first wall ties lasted 29 years. The ties supplied should have lasted much more than 8 years. I am very disappointed how this matter was handled.
