I recently moved to the area and the property I bought had dead grass in the small backyard. I requested for a quote from 3 contractors and decided to go with Yosemite. Yosemite crew came out on time and installed a pallet of sod while I was at work. I came home that afternoon and found that the sod Yosemite installed was pretty much brown. I was assured that after weeks of watering 30 minutes a day, the grass will turn green. I followed all instructions. The same day, I was inspecting the work, I found that several sprinkler heads were buried under the grass they installed. I called Yosemite and they fixed the issue the next day. After several weeks of watering, the grass did not grow. I contacted Yosemite and one of the field managers came out. He claims that I am not getting enough sun to grow grass in my backyard. I would need at least two hours of sun. So, one day, measured the amount sun light and found that I was actually getting the minimum requirement for sun. After a couple of weeks of emails and phone calls, Yosemite agreed to replace the sod. I was going on a two week vacation, so I instructed them to set the sprinkler system. Upon my return, I checked my yard and noticed dead grass. I contacted Yosemite and they claim that they installed some sod but again died. In the beginning of this project, I trusted Yosemite to tell me what is good for my backyard. I trusted that Yosemite would know what is needed for grass to grow. No discussion of any minimum sunlight was ever discussed. To date, I still have dead sod in my backyard and now full weeds.

I asked to have my side yard graded and a swale dug for drainage then have sod installed. I also had a pile of old dirt and rocks from a construction project that needed to be removed. What I got was the old dirt & rocks and some new topsoil raked out and sod put on top of it. After the sod install the gate would not close very well even after they worked on the problem. They did not cut back the dirt where the new sod butted up against the old grass so the is a ridge between the new sod and old grass.
