  One of the most beautiful and well-kept cemeteries I've ever stepped foot in. A number of famous people rest here for eternity, including Miles Davis (who has the largest headstone I've ever seen), Dorothy Parker, Herman Melville, Irving Berlin, and Bat Masterson. We walked through and found everyone we wanted to see to pay our respects. People do need to slow down driving through here as it is a place of reverence. We literally saw a car going too fast, hit either a pylon or gravestone, back out quickly, and kept driving. Be sensible! These are peoples' loved ones!

  This is a very beautiful & well kept cemetery. Honestly, one of the most beautiful I've ever been to. However after a recent visit for an in laws burial, I couldn't have been more disappointed. After paying $40,000 you really mean to tell me it was so hard to have all the paperwork, permits, etc ready for the scheduled time of burial when they had a week to have everything ready to leave our family standing around for over an hour because this hadn't been handled? People are already emotional, grieving & hurting after the passing of a loved one & to have something like this happen felt like insult to injury. There was absolutely no excuse & not even apologies were given for this by staff. Woodlawn Cemetery just gave the impression that sometimes it truly is all about the money & nothing more. I hope no other families have to experience this as I said it was an insult to injury.

  This is a one of a kind cemetery. The lake in the middle on the necropolis has huge fish that you are not allowed to feed. Just be careful with the guards they drive around in blue minivans. If you do get lost they will be happy to give you a lift.
