  WARNING: This company is neglectful and preys on the elderly. The customer service we received was on par with Comcast. Our family pets could have died. HERE ARE FACTS: 1) They provide service without request and demand payment. 2) They attempt to justify this practice through a cleverly disguised auto-renew policy that us unreadable by elderly customers. See attached photo. 3) They admitted themselves that they would NOT be able to hold onto more than half of their customers without this policy. 4) They put several of our families’ pets in danger by neglecting to secure a fenced-in yard. 5) They provided terrible customer services by saying that they would cancel the bill, and failing to do given 5 months to do it. HERE IS OUR EXPERIENCE IN DETAIL: Located in Havertown, PA, My mother, a 76 year-old widow battling lung cancer, had her lawn serviced by them for weeds in August 2016. This past May (2017), without any appointment or approval, they showed up to service her lawn when she was not home. She caught the landscaper as she was walking up the driveway. She was confused and told him that she never requested services, to which he replied he was ‘just following directions’ and told her to call the office. She was handed a bill. First my sister, then I called their office to contest the bill for services rendered without request, and spoke with a young man. He first tried to explain a ‘convenient’ auto-renew policy that is written on their invoice. Upon inspection, I saw that these terms are written in a dark red, small font that is printed over a dark green, heavily textured image of grass. See attached photo. THIS POLICY IS PURPOSEFULLY HIDDEN. I explained that there was no way that my elderly mother could read that with her vision; reiterated that there was no request for work, no prior understanding, and demanded that they cancel the bill and all future service. This young man had the absolute gall to ask if I would go 50/50 on the bill. He said that Vivid Lawn relies on auto-renew customers like my mother, and that they would lose MORE THAN HALF of their customers from season to season without this policy. Are you kidding me?! That is not my mother’s problem. Angry at this point, I told him that this practice was unethical, and to cancel the bill unless he wanted us to spread the word about what a terrible experience we’ve had dealing with their company. He begrudgingly said he would ‘take care of it.’ Shortly after hanging up, I realized that the side gate to my mother’s back yard was left open earlier by the landscaper. This fenced-in yard is for my mother’s dog; her primary companion. My sister and I also had our own dogs with us at the house during this visit. Fortunately, none of them got out. Regardless, this neglect is inexcusable and unprofessional. The last thing we need is for our mother’s beloved pet to be hit by a car. It is now mid-October, and my mother just received another bill. She will never deal with this company again. I warn everyone against the same – especially the elderly and those with parents who may fall into this scam.

  I have found Vivid Lawn to be a reliable service provider. My lawn has consistently green and weed-free ever since I changed service providers from a national brand to a local company. I recommended them to my sister who also praises the lawn service the company provides. I'm not sure if I received the $50 off customer referral fee but I'm happy that my sister is satisfied.
