    My before and after photos. The photo on the left was taken October 9th. Then, after a treatment by TRU Green, several large burnt spots appeared. I previously took care of my own lawn but thought maybe the professionals can improve upon it. I was wrong. I can’t wait until this contract is over so I can go back to my own routine where my lawn looked great.

    We have been customers of TruGreen for nearly 25 years (beginning with the company when it was ChemLawn), so it is shocking that I would even have to compose a review of this nature. It is difficult to express how very disappointed I am with the service that we have received in the past year. Without going into specific date by date details, we essentially pre-pay for yearly lawn service in order to optimize scheduling and servicing, with the ultimate goal of having a beautiful lawn. It is understandable in a pandemic there will be some challenges, but our experience is beyond that simple explanation. In short, instead of following an evenly dispersed schedule of applications, TruGreen bookended treatments in late spring, skipped the summer time altogether (which is prime-time for the lawn), and doubled up on treatments in November when snow was on the ground! How that was even possible to execute is beyond me. My surrounding neighbors who use competitors' services are currently cutting lush, green lawns and I'm looking at brown, dead grass scratching my head. I am simply beside myself. I never would have imagined I would be treated so poorly after 25 years of loyal patronage. You should be ashamed of yourself TruGreen. Embarrassing and Unacceptable.

    I would love to keep this short and to the point, but it all blends together with pros and cons. My wife & I purchased our first home 2 years ago, we were excited to have an acre of property with lots and trees and grass. We immediately began exterior property work by cutting down 8 pine trees in the front, stump grinding, 10 bushes removed, 2 tri-axles of topsoil, hundreds of pounds of grass seed, excavators. The whole 9 yards. -We got 5,000 square feet of grass to grow with some bald spots out front. -Hired Tru-Green after the woman on the phone told me “I can see your property we have our own satellites, not google earth, i see what and where your concerns are” Learned This was incorrect. -Discounted price for lawn and mosquitoes to $1500 from June 2021 - October 2021 to handle lawn and mosquito chemicals and fertilizers. -Told us the $1500 total cost was divided by 12 months, it wasn’t. $100 here $500 there $78 for this $125 for that. -$499 TO aerate and over-seed (not included in $1500 plan) 10,000 square feet of grass growing property. Took them only 20 minutes and they used like 25 pounds of grass seed. Missed 30% of property & 1 bag of seed per 10,000 doesn’t seem over-seeded. Had them back 3 times to get it right. -Did not dethatch lawn. Prior to or even after aeration. Not even offered. We were told that it is time consuming. Lawn to this day has thick dead under growth. -Never once addressed the moss that’s 60 feet long and 15 feet wide out back. This one of our big-to-do for them. -constant calls for grub control, some tree killings insect, pest, iron, calcium, and other treatments for an extra up charge. We did some of them and paid. - one guy from tru green called and actually to sell me some treatment and I told him my concerns, and we are basically wasting money on this. He said “I’ll have them come back & fix issues because call backs are free and included in the $1500.” Plus he gave us a post-emergent treatment on the lawn for free. It was End of season so we accepted that Instead of trying to get a little refund. Turns out. NOT FREE. We got a bill for that. Tired to explain to billing guy on phone the treatment at the end was comped To us. Said he would look into it. All he did was as send to collection. Hell didn’t care, either didn’t the first guy. - I feel like the people who call will say anything to get you to add extras or start a service. -Most of the workers are great to talk to. Most of them take pride in their job and your lawn. -The mosquito fogging guys are spot on they get it done and done right. That seemed to work. Think it was $99 each monthly treatment. Was part of the $1500 plan. -last time they were here was October of 2021. Still had the original bald spots and moss, which was the main reason we called. Every day I walk by the bald spot and it pisses me off. Honeslty, we were going to have them back this year. We were going to give it a second chance and let them get it right. Once we received a collection letter for $178 after being told that post- emergent treatments were free to us to make up for all the issues. And after paying the whole plan balance and all their extra up charges without issue. We feel like we are just another address and up charge to them. So damn disgusted. We were so excited. - It’s not the guys in the field it’s the damn people who call. Seems like they could care a less, and proof is in the details.
