  "Custom Lawn Service" should actually have the name of "Generic Lawn Service" or "Whatever We Want To Do Lawn Service". I asked them to apply a fertilizer that was recommended by the County Extension Service due to my soil sample results and I was told that they "can't just carry some fertilizer that only one customer needs..." What part of that statement says "Custom"?? Also, watch your bills - I once asked them to "customize" the application area and treat only my front yard, which they were happy to do, but the bill I received was for the amount that normally would be for my ENTIRE yard. These people are idiots and crooks. If you use them and your yard looks great, I would bet it's because you have perfect growing conditions and no need for specialized treatments. If you might have a need for "customization", you would do well to stay away from this company.

  We received paperwork in the mail to reinstate our service for this year, 2017 (we did use them last year). We did not return the paperwork indicating that we wished to continue using the company. They came and sprayed our yard anyway on 3/10/17. When we called to tell them we did not wish to continue their service (as we did not return their yearly contract), they informed us that they automatically ASSUME we want to use them unless they receive a phone call to the contrary (even through we did not send in the paperwork to continue their service). We paid a one year fee last year to get a discount, and we mailed in the entire yearly fee to get the discount. However, if we do not send back the new paperwork for the new year, it should be obvious we do not wish to continue their service. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Do not use this company. This is just a way to treat your yard and make you pay anyway. Their yard maintenance program DOES NOT work as we had more trouble last year than in previous years with dead spots and unwanted grasses. BUYER BE WARE!!! This is based solely on our experience.

  Very unhappy with the service provided. Called them because we wanted to have a nice looking lawn and we needed some guidance and help. Instead we got a company that is only interested in what they can spray on the lawn, not what it is going to take to fix the yard and make it healthy. I called them in early March, because I knew we would have to reseed this year, because we had some brown spots in the yard. Instead of telling us we needed to plant seed in March, when they diagnosed what our lawn needed, they told us we needed to have the yard sprayed with fertilizer and pre-emergent. They didn't bother to tell us that once they sprayed the yard, we wouldn't be able to put down any seed until fall. I don't understand why they didn't tell us that BEFORE they sprayed, giving us the option to plant seed this year. I don't think Custom should be in their name at all, since all they really want to do is show up, spend 15 minutes spraying the yard and leave you a bill. I guess I know what questions to ask the next company I hire.
