  On August 05, 2020 George came out to inspect under the house we were purchasing. Once he completed his inspection he came over to my realtor and myself to tell us what he found. George stated there was some condensation under the house , as well as some brown mold on a couple of the TGI floor joist. George stated that there wasn't any damage to the wood and that a fungicide treatment would be all that was needed, which was done on September 01, 2020. On September 08 and 10, 202 I had two different companies come out for a quote to encapsulate the crawl space, on both dates they each independently stated that there was significant damage to the TGI floor joist, as well as mushroom growing on the joist. On September 11, 2020 I contacted Suffolk Pest Control in an attempt to get them to do the right thing since they cleared the house for sale. Half way through my conversation with "Kathy" the office manager she interrupted me and began telling me that it was not their problem that a box was checked that said there may be damage and that they do not provide that service and they are not experts on the subject. How can you offer a service inspecting a home for moisture damage and not be an expert or have some expertise in that area? Had this information been provided prior to the purchase the previous owners would have been responsible for the $2250.00 I now have to spend to correct the problem . This company almost immediately began to deny any responsibility, and became argumentative. Terrible customer service I would never recommend this company, George was a nice guy but fell very short in doing his job, and the office manager "Kathy" has terrible customer service skills, and only tried to distance Suffolk Pest Control from the problem. The pictures speak for themselves. Update: On September 11, 2020 I received a call from Donna who only exacerbated the problem and blamed everyone except Suffolk Pest Control, who I paid for the moisture inspection. She blamed my realtor, me, the home inspector, and even the previous home owner, she even went so far as to say I was not taking responsibility for reading the back of the contract. Additionally she did say they were not experts and could not say for certain if there was damage only that there may be damage. Remember all of those positive reviews are great when things are going well, it's how the company stands behind it's product when things go wrong that mean the most and based on my experience this company is as bad as any company can be!!! I believe the pictures speak for themselves.

  This is where facts matter! I am sorry that Mr Pratt thinks that Suffolk Pest Control Inc. is somehow responsible for his decision to negotiate with the seller NOT to have the recommended contractor evaluate the numerous areas of damage. Suffolk Pest Control Inc has been in business for 35 years and has always considered pest control and damage repairs to be a conflict of interest. Mr Pratt was made fully aware in several different ways along with his real estate agent and the seller.(1) They were all shown photos of mushrooms growing from the fungi infested wood in the crawl space.(2) SPC provided inspection report NPMA-33 and a moisture report recommending a licensed contractor evaluate the need for repairs. (3) Again on the proposal for the fungus treatment , the inspector checked the box recommending a contractor to DETERMINE the extent of damages and the need for repairs! (4) The SPC inspector heard the seller tell Mr Pratt and his real estate agent that “I am an engineer and I will take care of the repairs. At that point, the repairs were not an issue for Mr Pratt. What happened next is beyond our scope of the inspection. Our job is done! We have informed the seller, the buyers agent and Mr Pratt, the buyer. My hope is that people who read his ridiculous review will understand that the NPMA form-33 and the moisture reports are regulated by the National Pest Management Association and provide a scope of the inspections. Both reports indicate that this is NOT a structural damage report! If damages from moisture or fungus are reported, “ it is the responsibility of the property owner to determine whether the damages require repair by having a licensed building contractor or a structural engineer inspect and estimate the necessary repairs, or submit in writing that the damages does not warrant repairs. “Anyone reading my reply should contact me if I am not being 100% clear on the scope of our inspection as this is written on every piece of Mr Pratt’s paperwork. I know that it is impossible to please every customer but, we continue to try and keep our cool even when we have been lied about in a public forum and blamed for not doing our job. It may interest the viewers to know that not everyone can comprehend information especially if they are closed minded as to the facts. Please know that if my company were responsible in any way, I would take full responsibility and pay for the repairs. Sorry Mr Pratt, we will not be inclined to take the blame for your mistake! Look inward ! I will be posting the original photos and reports that were given to the seller, buyer and buyers agent. I report, you decide. You may reply to our website or here on our google page.   As a Realtor, I have worked with Suffolk Pest Control during the buying and selling process of many homes. I have always found them to be professional and of the highest integrity. I personally use them for my own home, and I recommend them to my friends and family. My mother, in Virginia Beach, just had them complete her yearly inspection, and she was so pleased with how Robert, the inspector, explained the inspection results to her. Thanks Robert!!

  I will never use another pest control company again!!! Suffolk pest control is the best! I called to get a termite and moisture inspection service. They set me an appointment and a inspector named Robert came out to perform the inspection. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend Robert and Suffolk pest control to everyone!!! Thanks for your service
