  Well l decided a year ago to have a professional treat my lawn for weeds and grubs so that all l had to do was cut. One year later l have more weeds than before and grub damage that l can not fix because we own a dog. Won't be signing a new contract in the Spring.

  I hired Smith landscaping to do some work at our home last spring. It was the first time I ever had any professional work done, and I was very excited. Brian came, and we talked about what I would like done. We set a budget, and Brian said we could do a lot for the price I set. He overshot the budget by about 40 percent, so the drawings he gave me had to be revised to closer meet the budget. Ended up going over by about 30%, with some concessions on my part, which meant less plants, less color. So rather than showing me what I could have within my budget, he showed me what I COULD'VE had, for more money. Then we started subtracting from there, very frustrating..The crew came and got the work done quickly, and they were pleasant and professional. The results, however, were disappointing. The spacing of the plants seemed odd and irregular, I was told they would grow and fill in. The color combinations of the plants he chose were not attractive together. One evergreen tree looked very much like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. I called and we talked again, and he came and replaced the tree, and repositioned some plants. It was better, but really lacked the WOW factor I was hoping for. I guess I assumed that the end product would be beautiful. It was not. Now, this year as the plants have grown and matured some, they did fill in, even too much. Some are growing together, escaping the beds, and looking bad. Brian said he will come and move some more... I asked for an estimate to continue the work, and add more beds, which was the original plan, to continue the work over several years. (thinking this time I will express my likes and dislikes more clearly), I just received the estimate and plan. Again, I feel the things I asked for were not considered, One of the plants that I have repeatedly said I dont care for (a hydrangea, dont like it, wasnt what I had pictured in that area, wrong color) is in the new plan (3 of them!!) and lots of other things I didnt want. I have decided not to do any more business with them. We all work hard for our money, and deserve to have work done that we really love :). Best regards to Brian and crew! I hope to post pics soon!
