  This is a company that should not be a company. I get it people have to make ends meet but when you’re working in the summer from 8-12 making 13 an hour you’re not going to make what you need to make. The management and owner are very terrible possibly the worst that I have experienced. The younger you are in this company the worse you get treated. You have to beg and plead your manager(s) to fix something over and over before it actually gets fixed. Yes I was a very hard worker and I did everything I could possibly do for this company. But i walked out because I was getting sick and tired of the blatant disrespect directed twords me and my coworkers. The pay is absolutely terrible unless you’ve been there for 20+ years. They claim to be a team work environment but When I was plowing I called my boss and many other of my co workers called but I was stuck for 7+ hours in a snowstorm with 57 miles till empty on my truck. You are responsible for yourself and if you mess up you’re never going to stop hearing about it from the owner. also in a meeting that same week that got chalked up to a “communication error” when everybody else knew it wasn’t. Every-time I think about my work experience here I only have a handful of okay memories but a truckload of bad memories

As in all companies, impermissible, argumentative and insubordinate conduct will not be tolerated and usually results in disciplinary action.   Smart Scapes is an extremely unprofessional business. Our experience was terrible. We are located less than 1/4 mile from their business. We needed an insurance estimate on lawn damage. I talked to Jimmy on January 25, 2017, and was told I'd have an estimate emailed to me in 2 or 3 days. Based on that information I contacted the insurance company. The ground was completely snow free for six days. On January 31st it snowed. I didn't hear back from Jimmy until February 2, 8 full days after our call, to hear him tell me that they can't make it out until the snow melts, whenever that might be. It could be weeks or more. When I complained that we were lied to and that I felt we should have received a courtesy call telling me that they couldn't make it over when they had promised, Jimmy hung up on me, but not before feeling the need to lecture me. Don't do business with anyone like Smart Scapes who feel they can lie to you, break their promise and then scold you when you take exception to their unprofessional business practices. Had they been truthful, I could have contacted someone else to do the job. As it is now, the insurance company is on our back because they are worried that there might be more damage and that would compromise our claim and cause them to either disallow it or reduce it substantially. Consequently, Jimmy's unprofessionalism will cause us a lot of trouble and possible monetary loss. I'd rate them zero stars, but this site won't let me.

  Our lawn was dead, and the only growth was from an occational weed and the wife was ready to till the ground and start anew. I consulted with Mr Smart and he asked for the opportunity to bring the lawn back to life. Well that was 16 months ago and the yard is comming back strong. His fertilization program is as good as anyone's and the the applictor goes the extra mile to ensure quality service with evry visit. This local business is winning customers over 1 at a time and you will not be disappointed Tim & Joanne Brogan
