Been going here since 2000's. They are not the same, sure they always had the problem of adding work on our push mower we didn't ask for but it really probably did need it. Whats unacceptable is charging people to find a part and you didn't freaking find the part for. Wanted over 50 bucks for something they couldn't find. I've had a starter sold as OEM, look it up find it on ebay for 4 times less and a knock off. Long story short IMO if your mower is @250 or less go buy a new push mower its more practical. It will coast you more here when you consider its gonna be there for couple weeks and your gonna have to pay somebody to mow anyways. BG has all kinds of mower repair shops and they all charge about the same per hour, find one that will get the work done reasonable.

I could not recommend a place any higher than Roman's. Super customer service, work and for me, the most important part is that they are honest and up front with you. First time I went there I had an old weedeater (10 years +) that pooped out. they told me they could probably fix it for $70 but I'd be better off just getting a new one...so I did. My next visit was something that's not their regular work but they still got me in and fixed it. I drove in there with my medium duty truck (old Penske truck with 24' bed' ) and I needed my lift gate repaired. It had quit working and none of the truck places I usually go to do that type of work. Turned out it needed a solenoid replaced and the wires that were connecting it were all just a bump away from breaking in one spot or another and leave me stranded when I would need it most. The guys got all that fixed up for less than I expected it to cost and I was back to work the next day. My last visit there was a few days ago. I needed some parts for a riding mower that's also a dinosaur 🦖. Since I didn't have the mower with me they printed out and explained to me what could possibly be wrong with the break and the other part that I needed they explained to me how to fix myself vs ordering a new part. They don't make money of explaining but it's just the character of their business and that exactly why I will always recommend them and always take all my equipment to them for repairs
