  We run Cairn Collaborative - a small, custom, residential design-build firm - on the Central Coast building zero-energy and Passive House homes and buildings. I have been in business for nineteen years now and in the industry for nearly thirty. Taylor, Michael, and the team they have built at Purlieu are without question the most professional design-build landscape team with whom I have had the good fortune of working. It’s rare to find their combination of preparedness and awareness during the design process, their knowledge of native plantings and water conservation, and their artisan’s eye for layout and installation. Their entire process was clearly defined and maintained with clarity and integrity. We are looking forward to many years of working together with them and bringing their skills to our clients (an our own personal homes, too!).

  The Purlieu team designed and installed a beautiful landscape in our San Luis Obispo backyard three years ago. They consulted closely with us, the homeowners, at every step and responded well to our desires and suggestions. It was an ambitious project involving a steeply sloping property. Visitors continue to compliment us on the landscape. We chose to hire Purlieu for ongoing landscape maintenance and after three years we remain very satisfied with the care they are taking of not only the Purlieu-installed landscape but also the remainder of our property. The maintenance team are skilled and dependable, and take initiative, proposing tasks but not proceeding without consultation with us. In our experience, the entire Purlieu team is very professional and talented. We have recommended them to others on several occasions.
