Stay clear…took deposit or design fee to come out to house (2 months later) and never received a plan or estimate which I kept asking for. When ready to do job, owner said they didn’t think they could fit in after we had given them a months lead time. Asked for money back and they refused. So take a persons money and give them nothing in return. Really small project and feel it wouldn’t make him enough $$. In response to your lengthy response which you never addressed the fact we NEVER received an estimate, drawing and the numerous times I tried to reach out and there was no response. You threw out many dates and all the way thru I kept you in the loop because like you, it was covid times and everything was backed up. I was fair in doing my part and expected the same respect from you. Worked with many architectural landscapers in years gone by and paid a consult fee that was to be applied to the work completed but we were never given anything from your company. Guess you feel it’s your way of doing business to walk away with somebodies money and not make it right. Just a warning to others.
Response from the owner
Hey Marcia, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to hear that you feel your job was to small for us as no job is too small. We do charge a consultation fee, which we consulted with you on April 17, 2020. It is a "consultation" fee and not a "deposit". When we consulted with you mentioned you had to wait till the side porch was completed before we could do anything. On July 5th you messaged us saying the side porch will finally get started on July 12th. At that time we responded and asked for you to contact us when they actually start and we will set another time to discuss everything again. We heard nothing from you until September 1st saying the side porch is complete. We responded back to you the next day. On September 24th you messaged us saying slight change in painting due to weather. Asked if we could start the project the week of October 25th, as the window washers were coming first week of November. On October 1st we let you know that Ray had been out for 2 weeks due to neck and shoulder injuries. We let you know we would see where we could fit you in as we had other projects that we had started and we were also still waiting on materials. With Covid, short staffed and economical shortages everything had been setback. We had to finish those projects before we started on any new projects. You replied then asking if we just wanted to refund your "deposit" (You gave no deposit) or if we can provide a completion date as the HOA was looking for one. We replied that we will get you on the schedule and get your project done. October 15th you let us know painters were still on schedule and we could start on October 27th. But on October 24th you messaged us that you have looked for another landscaper because we didn't communicate during this whole process and claimed your project was too small for us. We had you on our schedule to do your project for end of July as that is when you originally told us the porch would be done, but you kept delaying everything and pushing the schedule back. We did our best to work with all your schedule changes. Sorry we didn't get to work together due to all the different circumstances. Thank you again for your review and if you would like to discuss further please reach out.

Outdoor Creations does excellent work, very thorough. I always got compliments on my yard. Ray's knowledge of plants is impressive. He set up my garden completely, including the irrigation, and putting up some additional shelves for plants, and I was very pleased with the result.
Response from the owner
Thank you so much for your kind words, Betty. We really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us, and we agree, Ray is truly a gem to have on our team! We count ourselves lucky for customers like you. We look forward to working with you again in the future!

You get nothing but generalizations for your $225 'consultation' fee. NOTE THE OWNER'S RESPONSE BELOW; what you will see is generalizations that any 12 year old could make; that I needed a drainage solution. duh! The bulkhead IS NOT THE SOLUTION to the underlying problem. It will be added protection after the drainage issue is solved. He was paid to offer ideas, not tell me I had to get someone else to give me ideas. Also, as the owner opines, my previously installed drain did not fail and had absolutely nothing to do with the problem he was paid to provide help with. It was installed to deal with driveway runoff and worked perfectly at that. I needed drains for a neighbors' run-off. His $225 solution was that I should get an engineer to tell me. Couldn't even give me a clue as to what might make sense. As you will see in other reviews, my experience is apparently not unique.

In response Mr. Vavra, We sincerely apologize that you are not content with the consultation that was performed on Friday November 2, 2018 shortly before 9:00 a.m. After serious discussions with you in the events that took place prior to our consultation, you sharing all the facts of the case, my recommendation was for you to hire a Bulkhead contractor. You stated that you had spoken with several, one of them had an engineer. To rectify your situation as expressed you will need a Bulkhead engineer to look at this project. In which point I made a recommendation if you would like me to join them, to give me their information once you hire that Bulkhead contractor and I will work alongside of the engineer to help develop a drainage system for you to correct the issue. However, the primary is the Bulkhead installation. I also pointed out several factors of the sinkholes in the back and what caused them, how they transpired, and the fact that the pipe YOU installed, yourself was failed based on its engineering. You emailed my office assistant on October 3rd 2018 with a picture of your problem area and she responded asking you if this was related to the storm or an ongoing issue. In which you replied "caused by extreme amounts of water from storm, but apparently an ongoing issue over the years I was not aware of." You mentioned to me that you have resided there for 17 years. Speaking with you, and your wife asking what she will get for that $225.00 consult. There are other underlying issues going on and it was all pointed out to you, then made recommendations to follow through with getting the Bulkhead contractor, I gave you the $225.00 consult. There are other details that need to be brought into perspective for your google review. Enclosing, when you're ready for us to come back out, if you want to give us a call we will gladly help and work along with the Bulkhead contractor, we keep accounts open for 12 months. Again, we apologize that you are not happy with the outcome of the consultation. Sincerely, R. Bray President/CEO P.S. Be sure to contact N.C. 811 (Utility Locators) for that stump before you continue digging.
