      I reached out to the manager on an issue with their chemicals getting into my lawn during an application to my neighbors property. I had great concerns because after my pets were exposed, they were getting sick. I called in a second time and spoke to someone that was not the manager. He told me I was uneducated and I was the only person who ever had a complaint, after getting upset with the conversation, I ended the call. He immediately called my neighbor to complain about me. The neighbor, who I have never had an issue with aggressively approached and assaulted me on my front yard while I was on the phone with the manager. Another neighbor witnessed the altercation and was concerned that I was being threatened, came to make sure I was ok. The manager was going to resolve the misunderstanding and get back to me. This was over three weeks ago and nothing has been resolved. I never received a call back or any apologies from the Representative. The one positive thing I could say, the receptionist who was new to the position was very understanding and handled my call professionally. The representative who fielded my call should either be let go or required to get training in customer service, if he is going to interact with the public.

      Northern Scapes installed beautiful retaining walls on my property. The crew did a wonderful job! They were very respectful and polite to work with. I am very pleased with the completed project. They really pay attention to all the details.

      My experience with NorthernScapes was brief. After an initial introduction with the sales rep, I was told that I couldn't even book a consultation for a major home patio project because this business is too busy this season. What message does this uncooperative attitude send to current and potential customers? From what I've seen the quality of the work is generally good. It's just that based on this experience, I wouldn't trust this company to prioritize my home or work with me through any issues that might come up. My interaction with them lasted only a few minutes. I left with a firm impression they have bigger fish to fry. The below section was added to the original comment on 4/5/21 in response to the owner's response: I know what a realistic time frame is for major landscaping architecture. I specified no time frame at all during the call. In the span of 2 minutes, your receptionist twice denied a simple consult request without asking for any further detail including a time table. I am not going to beg you to take my business. You are mis-characterizing the nature of the call. Instead of taking the opportunity to make things right you chose to use your response to push the blame back on me. If the apology isn't sincere why bother offering it at all? I've seen your work and I wouldn't have bothered calling if it wasn't quality. This is about lack of professionalism in your front office. It is clear from your response that this attitude comes right from the top. Here is a word of wisdom to anyone else considering this company for residential landscaping. If this company's owner can't constructively resolve an issue this small, and needs to push blame back on the customer, what will they do when a bigger issue with YOUR landscaping project needs to be resolved?

      We apologize that we were not able to accommodate the time frame in which this customer wanted an estimate and the work to be completed. Our estimators are always booked at least a couple of weeks out. We are fortunate to have work scheduled 2-3 months out for both landscaping and hardscaping projects. We would rather be honest about what a realistic timeframe looks like for our industry than to misinform customers. We did not have an opportunity to schedule an appointment with this customer because he said we did not want his business and then hung up. We have been in business for 37 years and there is a reason for it. Our customers have come to expect quality workmanship, good communication and professionalism. We appreciate all of our customers and we give the same attention to each and every project.
