  My landlords used this company to fertilize and use weed killer on our lawn. I watched my dogs eat some of the dirt that had been treated and they got sick and started to vomit uncontrollably. I immediately had my landlords contact the company to ask what products had been used on the lawn so that I could get my pets the proper vet care if necessary and have peace of mind to know what they ingested. They told my landlords that it couldn’t possibly be the products since they haven’t had any issues with pets for 20 years (as if, for one, the products used hadn’t changed in 20 years). I work from home and my pets are directly by my side all day. They were unattended outside for less than 5 minutes and I visibly saw them eating the dirt when I returned. I know it’s what made them sick as there was literally nothing else for them to get into. As their website indicates, the fertilizer is organic, and the weed control has “less” - key word - chemicals than others, but that doesn’t mean if your pet ingests it that they won’t get sick. I even tried to reach out to the company directly, and with urgency, to see exactly what is in their products, and they didn’t respond to me. Not responding to customer complaints about their pets getting sick from the product doesn’t equate to not having issues in 20 years. Very disappointed in their lack of accountability, and lack of responsiveness to what was a scary situation. The literal only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one, is that despite my dogs eating the treated soil, they did not die and did return to normal after about 3 days. Please note that animals are drawn to fertilizer and “pet friendly” doesn’t mean they will not get sick if they ingest it.

  Hello Lauren, We are happy to hear your dogs have gone back to normal activity. You indicated you attempted to reach out to our company but never had anyone respond back. We do pride ourselves on providing superior customer service and by way of an explanation, not an excuse, after speaking directly with our franchise owner, we were unable find any record of phone messages or emails we may have received from you. Perhaps you reached out to the landlord and the communication ended there. Regarding the materials we use, application of the organic-based fertilizers would not present an ingesting issue. The pellets are very small and the application rate for the product (analysis of 30-0-10) is 3 pounds of fertilizer over 1,000 sq ft. In one square foot of lawn there would be only 0.01 pounds of fertilizer. The fertilizer pellets are also on the soil’s surface, not the leaf blades which the dogs were apparently eating. In speaking with a Board Certified Veterinarian about this issue, he indicated dogs will eat grass for a variety of reason, especially if they have an upset stomach and are attempting to induce vomiting. As pet owners ourselves (three cats and a French Bulldog), we don’t like to see any animal sick but also feel confident our lawn application was not the cause. Since the property you reside in is a rental and it was your landlord who contracted with us, out of respect for you, we have notified the landlord we would not treat the lawn in the future.   I found NaturaLawn five years ago when I decided to stop using harsh chemicals in my home and lawn. Beau is the best in the business. He is honest, trustworthy, dependable and he LISTENS to his customers. Anytime an issues arises ( which doesn't happen often) he addresses it quickly and resolves it. I'm glad the OKC area has a healthier and effective option for the environment! The products work well and I wish more people would come to the "green side" . I can't say enough good things about this company.
