I have shopped in this store a number of times - purchased a Stihl chainsaw, rented a tile saw (not at all a good experience - blade was worn out and it never should have been rented out per employee when I brought it back but they did provide a rental credit). I was in the store last week for a quick purchase and what strikes me as odd about this store is the employees never appear to have any enthusiasm. Truly they are so low key it is almost depressing. Also last week, not a single employee had a face mask on, not one. Perhaps the fact I did so was part of the less than enthusiastic response I received. Wearing a mask protects me as a customer in addition to protecting their employees. I guess they are not that concerned.

I became a first time Stihl owner in the last year and the staff at Big Ridge are a big reason why. They took the time (and a lot of it) to discuss my needs, point out the features and benefits of each model and gave the the information needed to make an educated purchasing decision. I did extensive research prior to each of my purchases but learned something new from the Big Ridge staff during each visit. Every one of them has been extremely professional, polite and helpful. I never felt like I was being pressured to purchase. I highly recommend them to anyone needing outdoor power equipment.

The entire staff at Big Ridge is first class. I would consider myself a "high maintenance" customer; I tend to have lots of questions and when a tool breaks down I want it back up an running NOW. These guys not only get the job done right, they do it with a smile and always welcome me by name. Rare in this day and age. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Big Ridge Outdoor Equipment handles all of our Stihl equipment, from sales to maintenance and repairs.  I have been extremely satisfied with the quality service they have provided and the quick turn around time to get my equipment back out and working.  As the manager of a commercial landscape company I recommend Big Ridge Outdoor Equipment to anyone, commercial or residential.

These guys are clowns. I have been running Stihl Chainsaws for years. Last year (Sept. 2015) I bought an MS251 saw for use around our yard. The saw only has 15-20 hours of run time. Last weekend I ran a tank of fuel through the saw, and then started on the second tank. Halfway through the second tank the saw seized. I took the saw to Big Ridge to see if they could warranty to the saw. They said "sorry the saw is 5 weeks past the warranty, and the fuel in the tank is 13% ethanol". B.S. this is the same 10% ethanol fuel sold at most gas stations and the same fuel I have run through my 1985 Homelight saw, and Stihl string trimmer for years. The moral of the story is buy a 1980's vintage Homelight saw, they hold up better than Stihl's new junk.

Sorry you were disappointed with the information your wife received when she brought your chainsaw in for repair.  The reason we could not repair your saw, under warranty, was not because it was 5 weeks out of warranty. In the past 17 years, working with Stihl, I have found they have an outstanding reputation for covering warrantable defects in their products, sometimes even after the warranty time period has expired.
After an evaluation of your saw and a fuel test, of which you were not charged for, it was determined that the problem with your saw could not be covered under warranty. If you question our evaluation of your saw, please take it back to your local Stihl dealer, where you purchased it, for a second opinion.

Great customer service and quality rental equipment!  Luke and his Team go above and beyond to take care of their customers.

These guys are fabulous. Took the time to help me compare backpack blowers. Gave me good tips. I will be back.
