Lawns & Things has taken care of my lawn very decently for several years, but my recent experience with their snow removal service was disastrous. Before I left home for a seven-week winter vacation, I sent them an email about snow removal: I stated exactly what needed to be done. I received a reply of acknowledgement. During my absence, I received invoices for eight instances of snow removal, $50 each (= $400). I paid promptly. But when I returned from my vacation, I was shocked to see that almost no snow removal had been done. For example, I could not back into the driveway with my truck because it was covered with a thick layer of very hard, old snow. I asked Lawns & Things to either clear my driveway promptly or refund 50% of my payments (very generous of me). They sent out someone with a shovel (twice), who worked on it for about 30 minutes each time, and gave up. I ended up hiring someone else with a Bobcat to clear the driveway. They never sent me the refund I asked for.
