Thanks to Bobby and all the guys at Land and Coates! Between the first phone call, to the follow up visit to see and test drive the different models, to the final pickup of the tractor everything about the experience was top notch! I knew I wanted an L3301 for our property and Bobby confirmed that this would be a good tractor to fit our needs. I appreciated the recommendations, and expertise! So far so good, I spoke with John over the phone to see if they had the Toro Z-Master 4000 Zero-Turn mower I wanted in stock. He said they did have it, but it was already under contract. I told him nevermind because I had found it at another dealer but it was in the crate there. He recommended that I still stop by his dealership and that way I would be able to at least see the mower before purchasing it from the other dealer. I thought this was great, that he was still looking to help me even though I wasn't planning on purchasing the mower from them.  When I arrived, John was at lunch so Bobby pointed me to the Z-Master 4000. He immediately came out and was happy to tell me about the mower and he didn't hesitate to let me take a test drive. Then he informed me, that he could have the mower at his dealership by the end of the week from one of their sister dealers or their warehouse.

Because of the great customer service I decided to purchase it from them as opposed to the other dealer. I'll update the review Once I receive the mower at the end of the week, but so far I'm very impressed with their customer service.

We had a great experience working with Troy Martin. He was prompt in meeting our needs and in finding us the perfect skid steer for our needs. Also, Glenn Patterson delivered our machine to us. He was friendly and very knowledgeable and thoroughly went over the design and operation of our machine. He was so helpful!  Really great experience overall and recommend.

I own a local landcaping company and purchased a little wonder debris loader from the Va beach location and noticed it wasnt running to its full potential and brought it into this location ( Powhatan) .  From the start the service department was prompt and listened to my concerns. Asked if i could leave for the day .  Understanding this is our livelihood the turn around time was amazing . We had it back in a couple of hours running like a top!  Awesome Job!

Very happy with Land and Coates sales and service. I bought a tractor about a year and a half ago. They helped me pick out the perfect tractor for my needs. The time for its first service came and I called them. They picked up my tractor, serviced it and returned it without incident.
I also recently purchased a few additional implements (quick connect and grading scraper) and had an issue with the scraper connecting. Called and within a few minutes I had a call back and a service technician was at my house within the hour. Made some adjustments and proved to me that their customer service is beyond awesome.

Parts & repairs can be a bit xpensive. They need a competitor (John Deere or etc) to make them understand that there is a better way to treat customers & not make them feel like they just been duped or Hoodwinked out of their hard earned money!

Got a recall on my Honda Generator and brought it to Land and Coates Powhatan.  Service Staff was very quick to get the unit turned around.  I took my time to look around at the clean and well stocked showroom.
Sales staff greeted me and offered me any assistance I needed.  Grabbed a couple brochures and soon headed to my car.  As I was buckling up, I noticed the service tech rushing out to me before I pulled out.  My Generator was fixed.  Apparently it wasn't a big recall and they had just got the parts in the other day.  I drove about 15 miles to get to them, passing the place I bought it from originally.  They saved me time and gas on a trip back to pick it up later.  They didn't get a big profit from me, but in a world where customer service is lacking left and right, these guys really made me feel like a valued customer. I will be referring all my friends and family to these guys.  THANK YOU Land & Coates Powhatan, Keep up the great work.

Worst service at any place I’ve ever been. Made an appointment to get my lawn mower worked on and they took 5 weeks to pick up the machine. Never called me to tell me what is going on with the mower and I had to call them 3 times to see what was taking so long. After over a week at the shop, they put a new battery in the mower. Overall, it took them 6 weeks just to put a battery in my lawn mower. No one ever called me. Rude service manager, John, could care less. He said that they messed up and sucked. Those were his words to describe my service. Take your business somewhere else.

I called to have our tractor fixed on April 17th. I was told that they would not be able to get to me until late the next week which was fine. I then received a call on April 21st. The service department person asked if they had ever serviced my tractor before which they had. He asked for the spelling of my name and subsequently found my information in his system. I asked when he thought they would be able to be able to pick up my tractor for service and he said that it would not be until the beginning of the next week. Here it is April 30th and I still have not received a call from Land and Coates. That is too bad for them because not only did they lose out on servicing my old tractor, they lost out on a sale of over $7000 because I purchased a new tractor from a dealer who was responsive, helpful and friendly. Even better, they delivered my new zero-turn about an hour after I purchased it and they took my old tractor for service. I will never again do business with Land and Coates.

Been to this location several times. Purchased a lawn tractor from them and it was a seamless experience. Purchased parts from them and it also was a smooth process. DEALING WITH THEIR SERVICE (or lack thereof) WAS A JOKE!  I dropped off my Stihl chainsaw on 9/10/20 and should have known how bad the service would be based on the whole experience. The service department is set up as a different entity from everything else (I guess for good reason). Here’s how it went:
1) Took 15 literal minutes of standing around until someone decided to help me
2)  The person taking in my Chainsaw seemed disinterested from the start
3) I explained what I needed done and he writes it on some scrap paper and then says I will call you when it’s completed
4) No work order or official paperwork was given to me before leaving
5) No possible time frame was given on the work expected to be performed
6) Showed up on 9/23/20 to check randomly after not receiving any calls
7) Different person at the counter couldn’t find my work order (not surprising being I didn’t get one either)
8) Finds some paperwork pertaining to my order in a quotes basket with a note written on the top saying “no answer” on 9/21/20. I guess they couldn’t leave a message!
9) No work was performed and they said they thought it might be the motor housing which would cost what the chainsaw was worth. Absolute nonsense! I knew exactly what it needed.
10) No apologies about anything. Just a “well we’re kind of backed up” This place is just like a bad car dealership that wants to rip you off!

Took my saw and left. Will never go back for anything after that experience. Absolute joke. Lol
