  In early March, my wife and I contracted with this company to landscape our backyard and pool. The drawing he did for the job was rough but good enough for us to be able to tell what was going where. We agreed he would start in early April which he did. He asked for 50% payment when they began the work and I paid him. The work took until late April to complete but we were pleased with the job. However, we only saw the owner, Zack Derese, a couple of times during the project. The 3 guys he had doing the work were great. So great, in fact, I tipped each one $100.00 on their last day. When they finished, I put a check in the mail to Zack for the remaining payment in full. The job total was roughly $30,000.00. Since the job was paid and completed, I have not been able to get Zack to respond by phone or email. I have one simple question for him concerning one of the plants he provided. His refusal to respond has soured the relationship for us. I told him we had another larger project we wanted to do this fall but he, evidently, isn't interested or at least not enough to give us some basic customer service. This is, in my opinion, a horrible way to run a business. I would be very leery of using this company if I was you. It could turn into something worse than just not calling you back.
