I had a pet emergency. Island to island staff are responsive and kind. They explained everything so well. It'll be a while before the dog fully recovers, but I feel confident and competent in my ability to help her on the route to recovery because of the immense amount of education I was given while I was there. I had to euthanize my dog yesterday that I've had for 13 years probably one of the hardest things I've had to do is long time but Island veterinarian was one of the most compassionate veterinarians I have been to in a long time they were very sincere and helpful to me to get me through this. I can't say enough about how they handled my dog in this part of her life. They were as loving to her as I was to her all the time. They made my dog very comfortable and to help her pass through the rest of her life. I can't say enough about them but I was very pleased with how they help me get through this. I would recommend them to anyone. We need more veterinarians like this.!!!

I wish I could leave 2 separate reviews for the different veterinarians we have seen at island to island - I loved my experience with Dr Marna and would give her 5 stars. The helpful assistants deserve 5 stars. But I have had only awful experiences when taking my dog to Dr Dehnz and would give her 1 star. My dog is reactive and Dr Dehnz only lectures me and my husband about it, does not treat us or my dog kindly - completely ignoring him in the room until its time to give him a shot, further scaring him for next time. She brushes off my opinions and concerns and comes off as very judgmental and rude. The SAME exact dog went to Dr Marna during an emergency - she clearly knows how to handle a fearful dog. He could take treats from her, have his shots from her, spend the night and get his nails trimmed with no issues because she takes the time to make him feel comfortable. I went home with a happy dog with no lectures and no judgement. I have cried from frustration after seeing Dr Dehnz and cried with happiness after picking my dog up from Dr Marna - it gave me hope that not every vet experience would be awful for my dog and I. (Dr Jolene was good with our other dog as well but I haven't taken this dog to her yet! )
