I’ve been using Hillside since last fall, after realizing the national chain I was using was skipping scheduled services for me. Hillside was quick to provide a quote and explain their services, and while more expensive than others, so far it seems worth it. My lawn greened up quicker than normal this season and already seems to be on track to exceed my expectations. Excited to see how this season plays out compared to my last few years!

Be careful when using this company. No one person or company is perfect. After three years a discerning pattern was noticed. Hard to believe it was by mistake. First year a very expensive service was performed (Aeration and over-seeding) without my authorization. When I questioned this they said they reached out by email but got no response. They took that as a yes for the service. Second year when Hillside sent out their yearly service the Aeration and Seeding was on the quote at a very low price. When I saw this price I called and questioned the price and I was assured this was no mistake. I jumped at the great deal and paid for the yearly service in full. When fall came around 2 week prior to the aeration and seeding I received a call from Hillside saying a mistake was made on the price of this service and they could not honor the price that I already paid in full for. They best they could do was a partial service. To top it off it was in a part of the yard where grass was killed by one of their previous application. Third year received the yearly offer with the same unbelievable price for Aeration and Seeding. I again question this and I’m still waiting for a response. Needless to say their services won’t be needed.

After this company took over (bought out) my last lawn care person, I thought they were continuing his outstanding service, until I noticed the ruts made by the machines across the hill in my backyard. I called and explained what was happening and asked they not go across the hill (creating the ruts) but go up and down (the last service did it that way). The woman on the phone said, “I will make a note in the file”. Well, we finally had the next application and the new technician made even worse ruts in my lawn. I have video and pictures to prove it. The kid tore up part of the hillside, knowing the grass had dew on it making traction tough. At one point he nearly lost control of the machine almost sliding down the hill. I will be canceling my service after the contract runs out. You gave your word it wouldn’t happen again… I did finally have a meeting with one of the consultants with the company and after a discussion, I agreed to give them one more year to demonstrate their dedication to the service. I will update this next fall.
