  This company was really great to work with! The amount of work and quality of work was way better than we could have expected. They made sure we were all on the same page before they started work and really listened to our priorities and helped stay within budget. I can’t recommend them enough!

  BEWARE!!! If Negative Stars were possible, that would be a more accurate review! We hired Hillger Ventures to prep our yard, put down top soil, and lay sod. Owner, Ronnie Hillger, not only charged our credit card for 70% of the amount 45 days in advance of the job ever even being started, but it was almost impossible to get in contact with him once he got that first installment. Why would you take the first payment out THAT far in advance of the job even being started? Work that was agreed upon was not performed, such as prepping the soil, as was explained in his initial in person verbal bid. There was no way of getting a Signed contract, he did not deliver all of the pallets of grass that was agreed upon and charged for, not even close. And we have proof of that through recorded game camera footage showing the deliveries that were actually made. Also the top soil that was delivered was dumped right in the middle of the drive way on a Friday at 4:30p.m. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! When he was contacted about it (low and behold he actually did return that call), he said we would have to wait until the next day to have it moved. Then upon moving the top soil, he ran over multiple sprinkler heads that were clearly marked with hot pink flags, all while driving across our yard like a mad man. And yes, I saw him get on the skid steer with my own two eyes, so I know it was not his employee doing the crazy driving! This was also my first time to meet him in person, and he was very unprofessional, and had quite an attitude with me throughout the whole conversation. Quite rude, like we cause inconvenience because we wanted it moved out of the drive way! They didn't stop there, however, before it was over they ran over and broke off the main valve switch for the sprinkler system and crushed the box that was housing it. We had to hire a plumber to come out and repair that, he too was amazed at the poor and reckless job that was done. They also broke the sprinkler system in two more places while laying the soil and sod when packing it down with the skid steer and machinery. Lastly, he laid sod that was dead in several places of the yard, and this was in June this year, one of the wettest years we have had! We had been having a ton of rain, and even with that and the sprinkler system we still have dead grass!! This experience was a nightmare from beginning to end. Then when it was finished we tried contacting him multiple times to get these issues resolved Before turning in the final payment, and we never could get him to return calls or messages. We hired an attorney to try and settle it, yes, settle it, and Hillger Ventures was once again very difficult to get a response from by our attorney. In addition, they stated they never received emails or CERTIFIED mail regarding this settlement from our attorney. Then he turned around and filed suit against us. He is a dirty crook, and has already changed names from A+ Grass to Hillger Ventures Inc, makes me wonder if his Customer Service and petty theft drove him to have to change names! Buyers BEWARE, this guy is a CROOK!!!

  Unfortunately I know we are all going to have unhappy customers, and we try to do our best as a company to please and keep all our customers happy! Sorry you were unsatisfied with our business..... Next time you choose to slander a company please do your research, and post accurate pictures! The grass that died wasn’t being watered by the sprinklers you had installed! The break in your water line under the cap had nothing to do with being ran over by our bobcat! I have pictures of your yard the day the grass was laid and also 3 weeks after! I was forced to hire an attorney to get payment for the grass that was delivered and laid at your home and is looking great even today! My husband was more than happy to talk with you to help figure out a solution to what you were unhappy with and was kicked off your property! I’m sorry we couldn’t come to an agreement and had to settle in court! This is the first time in 18yrs we have ever had to hire an attorney! So sorry we couldn’t make you a satisfied customer like so many others! If there was a way to warn people of customers and give you a review and post pictures we most certainly would! Pictures are worth a thousand words, and if I didn’t have them I’m sure we wouldn’t have ended up getting paid!

  I picked up a pallet of Saint Augustine yesterday, and laid it yesterday as well. The pallet of sod was good quality with very few damaged pieces.
