I would give no stars if possible but this company is a prime example of how to not to business. Cameron Came out here to give us a quote in late March and said that they would be able to begin work around mid May. He was supposed to come out again in late April to finalize everything and didn't show up for our appointment then it seemed as if he was avoiding our phone calls for several weeks. When we did get a hold of him in early July he said that he had taken on more work than he could manage but will figure out how to get us in soon. we spent another couple weeks trying to get a hold of him again and got the same story over and over again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They're a prime example of quantity over quality in their work and just flat out unprofessional and unreliable all around.

I live in an HOA that has hired High Desert to maintain our front yard landscaping. The team that is responsible for keeping our front yards are ruining trees and bushes. There is only so much you can cut off a tree before it becomes damaged and ugly to look at! Last fall they came by and hacked off three of my front bushes so low that the bushes never came back and now the association has to replace them. What a waste of money! This spring they cut two lower branches of my tree, which was fine. Two weeks later they came back and cut two more branches on the same side. Now my tree only has branches growing on one side of the tree. I called High Desert and they now think they will have to replace the tree because it leans to one side. Another unwarranted expense! Today, they cut back a plum tree across the street from me that was beautiful and growing nicely. But they cut all the several of the lower branches of a 2-3 yr tree so now it looks like a stick with some leaves at the top. I understand why they need to trim but that is not what they are doing. They are hacking these trees without knowledge on why or how they are supposed to trim. Pruning a tree is cutting the inside to thin a tree out to avoid wind damage. Not just cutting main branches off and leaving a tree top heavy. It really is a shame to see what is being done without an understanding of how to do the job. They are just told to trim trees. That is what the young man I spoke to said he was told to do. I explained (he translated) that trees need to be trimmed on the inside, not just take the major branches off. Also, different trees need a different approach. I don’t expect High Desert to hire arborists to do the job but I do think some training needs to take place to avoid costly replacements. Thanks for reading this and I hope you understand the dilemma we are all in regarding the maintenance of our front yards. Please High Desert, do a little teaching to help these fellows do a decent job.

Very friendly in getting your business however if there is an issue they are very very slow in their response time. I was told by an employee “we charge low rates and have a lot of accounts.” I told him I would rather be charged a little more than be ignored... will take care of big accounts but ignore the small ones.. strongly suggest using someone else.
