Ground Control to Major Tom! Shelley and Tony are a wonderful team and provide timely and dependable service. They maintain our grass and landscaping and they have also done project work for us (removed trees, re-planted a whole property line of trees, lawn treatment, trimming of shrubbery). I'm very satisfied with Ground Control and would recommend them to anyone who cares about their landscaping. they are also affordable and willing to work within your budget. Thanks guys!

Let me start by saying that I do not generally leave reviews because I generally feel that it unnecessarily biases clients, and particularly during the time of COVID, I am adamantly pro-small business. That being said, I thought it was my civic duty to anyone using Ground Control for their irrigation services. So let’s begin. I reached out to Mike months ago regarding installation of a pump into a couple water reclamation tanks (filled with downspout water) in my backyard that would serve as reservoirs to pump water to furnish the sprinkler system so that I was not having to use city water. This was to be completed June-July 2020. The work was hastily completed September 2020. When completed, I heard NOTHING from Ground Control as to whether the work was complete or not. The circuit breaker was left off and taped shut and I was never told it was active. Flash forward to spring 2021 and of course there was no pressure to the sprinkler system from the pump. The piping leading down to the tanks was cracked. The pump was broken. Of course not knowing whether it was completely installed or not, it had not been winterized. Although there were issues with communication, I conceded and will take the blame on that one. So when the work was to be completed, I signed a contract to have the work redone to fix the backflow, purchase and install a new pump, and reconnect all piping. The work was sloppy at best and what this company lacks is COMMUNICATION. It seems so simple to notify a client when you will come complete work, when you have left, notifying them what has been done, what still needs to be done, giving clients time frames on your arrival, etc. None of this was ever conveyed. Sending emails was futile. I would get no response. Sending texts have been the only form of communication and this has been unreliable since I would not hear back for several days to a couple weeks at a time. In ANY other profession, this would be standard of care - a basic tenet of professionalism. Good customer service. This company lacks that. It’s truly remarkable that something so simple has to be asked. Common courtesy would be to keep clients up to date with work done since it is at their home and on their property. This is common sense. This is a basic expectation for contracted work. So here we are several months down the road. Mike has been waiting on a “pump switch” for over a month. How this was not ordered at the time of the contract for work is beyond me. It’s always something: “I need to find this piece or that piece”, “I need longer wiring”, “I need to order a pump switch”. My attitude is you’re the expert and should be prepared for all of these things. A $1600 job should be organized. Also, once he stated he would come by personally to do the job and then I come to find from my nanny that no one came. When I finally reached him by phone, he said, “My guy came out there and looked things over.” I confirmed on my Ring doorbell (one in the front yard and one in the back) that no one had come by. Lying to a customer is the absolute lowest of lows. He lacks organization, punctuality, professionalism, reliability, trust, basic communication, and expertise. Any one of these is a red flag, and unfortunately all of these are characteristic of the company and the “expert” himself. So as of now, several months later, with work generally expected to take 2-3 days maximum, I still do not have my pump to the water reclamation tanks active. I am using my backflow, summer is almost over so use of the sprinkler system will be unnecessary in a short 1-2 months, my texts and emails are going unanswered, and I am in the process of contracting the work out to another company, Wimberg Landscaping, who does all of my other landscaping and irrigation anyway. All I needed from Ground Control was hooking up the oump so that my irrigation guy could service the irrigation system. If you need irrigation work, reach out to Wimberg Landscaping since Scott (irrigation expert) has qualities far superior than Ground Control. 1 star is pushing it…

We were so pleased with Ground Control's work! We usually handle the spring clean-up, mulching, and planting ourselves. The older we get, however, the more difficult it gets! Tony and Shelley did an AWESOME job - much better than we have ever done ourselves! - and for a very fair price. We greatly appreciate their creativity, meticulous eye for detail, and hard hard hard work! 5 Stars from us - Highly Recommended!!!
