I liked the guy who came out to look at the job on a Friday. He assured me “This is exactly what we do” and he spent a lot of time with me discussing the details and said I’d have a proposal by Tuesday. It went downhill from there. I had to mercilessly hound this company to provide a proposal and didn’t revive one until almost three weeks later. I then had a simple question that they never responded to despite more phone calls and emails. I signed the proposal despite not having had my question answered and then had to call again to schedule. I scheduled and then heard nothing again. I called and they asked me if the surveyed had been out. I’m supposed to know this? It came to Wednesday of the week they were supposed to start and still I had heard nothing so I called and canceled the 5k+ job. The customer service was awful to say the least. Never an apology for the delays or lack of communication. Never spoke to the owner. They couldn’t care less and wasted 6 weeks of my time. I’d never consider reaching out to them again for work on any of my properties and will happily give my money to a company who cares about customers.

Greg's Landscaping did some pasture restoration work for me. I couldn't be any more pleased with the job. The crew was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. The proposal was extremely fair and the work ethic of the guys operating the equipment was incredible. Their work quality was exceptional. It exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend this company.

Work Done: Grading of lawn, seeding, and burying pipes to street: ~6k. I reached out to Greg to get a quote to remove areas of landscaping rock and a broken down concrete pad in order to replace it with grass. I wanted to get drainage away from the house, so the downspouts were buried and led to the street (This was done very well, and I would give it 4 stars, as it looks good but the drain pipes were dented in the process). The concrete pad was graded toward the house, and I needed to get the water away from the house. Bushes in the front yard were to be removed and also replaced with grass. Greg visited the house and we reviewed what I wanted done. He was friendly and seemed to understand what I wanted accomplished. He provided a quote, however, the quote was general by saying 'regrading and seeding', which I misconstrued to mean what we had previously agreed to (explained later). In the process of removing the concrete pad in my backyard, the cinder blocks around my bilco doors were knocked in and needed to be replaced. Greg came back out, and I agreed with his opinion that some of the blocks were weak, so I paid for the majority of the work to repair the damage. The team repaired the damage, yet the grading process was done first, so it basically created a divot/moat around the bilco doors, which guided water to the same spots that caused the weakness to begin with, unfortunately. When I spoke with Hugo and his crew about the work to be done, Hugo was only aware of a portion of what Greg and I spoke about. The grading was eyeballed and not measured out with stakes and string to ensure the proper slope, however, to be fair, the majority of the lawn looked okay after they left, and I only needed to spend a minimal amount to fix the imperfections. In addition, Hugo was gone when I came out to review the work, and I had to speak to him over the phone to know how to take care of the new grass seed. The ground was covered with straw, so I had no effective way to ensure the work was done properly. Here is my primary issue with this whole process. Greg and I had a clear understanding what I wanted, however, after the bushes and landscaping rocks were removed, his team was the under the impression that nothing else was to be done, not even grass. This is bizarre to me, because I wanted nothing but grass, yet his folks thought there was to be noting but dirt. Strange that a landscaping company with beautiful pics on the website never had a single conversation with me about a single flower bed, grasses, bush, etc. in place of what was removed, yet claims that was our deal. Instead, I had to pay an additional $900 for soil and additional transport costs to get what Greg and I had discussed in the first place, which put his bid from the cheapest to the most expensive. It's upsetting, because at the end of the day, I liked Greg and his crew, but I can't help but feel swindled by the whole thing. This is my first online review ever, so all I can say is be specific. Greg is a good guy, and his crew works hard, but I will walk away from this thinking I did right by him by offering to pay for a portion of the cinder block work, and he screwed me by charging for something I wanted from the beginning. I only feel slightly better because he lost another 6k driveway job due to how he handled this process. I know this sounds strange, but I want to stress: Greg and his folks do a good job; just be VERY specific so you know what is expected and what you can hold him to in regards to the work to be done. I accepted vague terms, and I would hope folks don't make the same mistake I did, in case the other services that Greg offers are performed similar to how my job was executed.
