  Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Georgie's Yard Services. Prior to hiring George, we asked about the negative reviews online. At the time he was very dismissive and said something like "that's why I don't like the internet, because anyone can just post anything and make it sound like it's your fault." We were anxious to get some work done and our job seemed fairly straight forward (weeding, putting in plants and weed paper and covering in gravel), so we proceeded despite the negative reviews. Now, maybe 5 weeks later, two of our plants have died, and we have weeds not only around the edges of the grow area where you might expect a couple to get through despite the weed paper, but all throughout the grow areas. Looking closely at the gravel it becomes obvious that either intentionally or negligently, there is a considerable amount of dirt mixed in with the rocks, creating a surface on top of the weed paper for the weeds to grow in, rendering the weed paper pointless. We expected weeds to crop up over time, but the speed and magnitude of our weeds is extremely disheartening. I contacted George several days ago letting him know that I planned to post a review and asking if he wanted to come back and resolve our outstanding concerns before I posted the review. I would've been happy for him to simply come and pull all of the new weeds and replace the two dead plants, after which I would take responsibility for maintaining the weeds. He attempted to return my call once but failed to leave me a message and when I called him back, all I got was his voicemail, which he has yet to respond to. Like others have mentioned, our experience working with him, even setting aside the lack of quality and longevity in the actual work done, was unpleasant, with him often blaming us for being "nit-picky" when we would bring things to his attention or disagree with him. Unlike others' experience, he was equally (perhaps even more so) pushy and unprofessional with my husband as we me. He would imply that my husband was getting "so aggressive" whenever he point out a deficiency in the work and on several occasions said something like "you guys are really starting to get on my nerves and I'm thinking of just walking away from this job at this point." I wish that I could say otherwise, but my advice is to go elsewhere for your landscaping and don't let him talk you into believing that his poor reviews are simply disgruntled customers telling lies to get back at him. Having a husband who is himself in the service industry, I know how damaging reviews can be and I do not write them lightly.

  Beware! George states that he is licensed, bonded and insured. After careful review, he is none of these. He has no idea what he is doing. He is not familiar with landscaping, plants and how to care for them. He spent most his time complaining about his personal life. He had a strong Oder of alcohol on his breath. Several of my plants did not survive because of his poor workmanship.

  George was prompt,professional and responsive to my needs and suggestions. Excellent outcome to my project. He will be back again in the spring. I'll recommend to friends and neighbors.
