I found Mike Williams, Sales Design Manager to be great to work with. He took the time to really listen to what we wanted to accomplish with our landscape project, and offered solutions that we had not thought of. Mike was easy to communicate with, professionally courteous, on-time for our appointments and always prompt in returning phone call and texts.

I hired G and G to install a berm and irrigation in a private residence Spring 2021. They were not the cheapest quote I received but I was hoping they would be more knowledgeable and professional. Pros: enjoyed working with both the landscape and irrigation project managers. Very professional, likable, and responsive. Cons: the company is dysfunctional, and when things go awry, they tend to all throw each other under the boss. One will tell me to order plants as the project was about to commence and another would then say it’s going to be a month or so*. They disagreed which order the project should be done in. Hardest part of all is the sales associate came up with a terrible plant design. Only two plants, one I had already told him I couldn’t use and the other a shade plant for a sunny part of my yard. Months later I’m having invoice issues and have yet to pay my balance. I have sent emails and left phone messages, but no one has fixed the invoice so that I can pay the balance. They have several nice people working for them, but are not, needless to say, a well run organization as I had hoped. *the landscape manger worked hard to get the berm done when originally promised (Pikes in Cornelius was fantastic in saving the day and coming up with a beautiful design for free- thank you Angie and the owner- love you guys!)

Ok, use G&G at your own risk. First their team is very professional and I believe has good intentions, the problem is that they make promises with their higher pricing that they appear incapable of being able to keep. They appear to have a serious problem in managing their business especially in the maintenance area. I brought in a number of homes to their businss and and everyone has had to fire them for performane. I was the last as I gave them an extra year as they agreed they had made errors, but the just needed a chance to make it right. While things got better, a large part was due to my focus on their work and pointing out our problems areas when there should have been no issues especially since they were focused on getting on track. We were not being picky clients, this was gross errors in not pruning when they were paid to prune or missing chemical treatments that we discovered because weeds showed in the yard in mass. What finally caused me to fire them, after being asked repeatadley to give them more time on the specific items they agreed were wrong, I had some items needing attention and called to review with person that promised everything was going to be better. I asked for him to come review some of the open items we had agreed on, things quickly became clear as they delivered a 3.3 X increase in price as the season was about to start. It was simply a strategy to keep us engaged thru the slower season and raise the price without warning (yes, while not performing thru that period) leaving us no options potentially but to pay. Now think about this, as its important to understand the ethics of a business, they agree they are not performing for over a year, they constantly ask for more time and they will do better if we work with them, they never indicate a problem with the scope or price, they then show up and tell you it will be over 3 times the cost at the start of the new season. Lucky for me I had engaged additional suppliers long before as a backup in case they did not correct their performance issues, if I had not I would have been in trouble. Its was easy enough to get updated quotes which were up about 10% for exact same scope, which I thought was right based on increasing costs over the past year. I asked for a meeting with the owner, and once it was clear he had no intention to call me back. I sent an email which I asked for his team to share, and wanted to discuss and be credited due to performance issues. I got a polite and simple response that he respectfully disagreed with my perspective. With all the confirmed errors by his team, and my highlighting that his team proposed over a 3x increase when I had a new quote for only 10% increase for the same scope, you would think he might want to discuss with the client. Well you know the answer. To provide context we were paying over $400 every month (not the highest, but certainly not low) for maintenance and I have included a couple of photos to provide context of how bad the quality got because of lack of action by G&G, but plenty of promises. Businesses make mistakes as no one is perfect, but being dishonest and misleading your clients over a long period of time, and at the top of the business to refuse to talk to your clients to understand why they are concerned is simply unforgivebable. I gave the owner every opportunity to discuss so I am starting with the obvious action to share what you can experience if you choose G&G. This is a tough but fair review because I could have written far more detail which would have made it far worse, unfortunately it is necessary because of the unethical approach by G&G.
