Farrell Landscaping just completed an above ground septic runoff system for me. I am so impressed by the job they did. I prefer to do business in the area where my home is and they certainly did not let me down. The job went smoothly even though they had to deal with rainy weather and a neighbor who tried to dictate how the job should be done. They not only installed the system but improved the landscape in my back yard. Chad communicated with me daily, also took care of advising the engineer as well as the town that the job is completed. I would highly recommend Chad Farrell and his crew.

Between the quality of work and lack of customer service from the owner Chad, I wish I could give less than 1 star. First off, I did not hire them or choose them. They were hired by National Fuel to rehab my property after they put in a new gas line. The tie in pit was on my property so equipment was frequently parked in my front yard and the pit was massive, destroying a large chunk of property. Not only did it take them almost 6 months to come rehab our yards (project completed around November, they didn’t do anything with the yards until late May/early June of the next year), but when they showed up they did a terrible job on at least mine, and probably others. The “topsoil” was full of rocks, some the size of basketballs that I spent all summer digging out. They mounded 8” of dirt IN my ditch where the excavator traveled through which has dammed my ditch up to hold water when it rains. They left high and low spots throughout their work, my mower has destroyed a set of blades scalping their piles they didn’t grade properly all summer. And they left excavator ruts mounded so high on the edge of the tie in pit that I can’t even drive my tractor over them to mow without bottoming out on them. I called them the day the dirt work was finished, before hydro seed, to let them know they needed to fix parts before seeding, the secretary said she’d have the owner call me. Waited a week, yard got hydroseeded, called back 2 or 3 times and finally got the owner around mid June. “Oh, sorry, I was on vacation. But yeah don’t worry, I remember the house, got a crew doing a job up that way in a few weeks and I’ll have them stop in and fix it for you. No problem.” Waited until September, 3 months, and called back, left messages, called both the listed business phone and the snow plow number (owner Chads cell) and never got a response. Called Chads cell from my work cell phone (a number they never had) and immediately he picked up. “Oh yeah, I was on vacation, sorry. So uh, yeah I’m not sure if we’d be the ones responsible for repairing the yard, *names some construction company I’ve never heard of* so I’ll have to see what’s up.” Told him I don’t care who does it, i just want it done, it’s going on a year now that my yard has been destroyed. Not once did I yell, curse or talk down to Chad and he was actually very nice on the phone, so I didn’t expect to get the shaft from him on something so simple and cheap to fix. Waited another few weeks for a call back and got no response from Chad. Finally I left a last voicemail on his cell about 4 weeks ago and told him to call me back and make this right or I’d do what I have to do to file a complaint with either the gas company or or town or whoever. Got no response. So here I am now going through the steps with National Fuel to hopwfully get my yard fixed after a year of waiting. If you’re paying them for work, yeah they may be fine to hire. But if they get hired through a utility or government contract for work, seems like as long as they get paid they just toss some dirt and grass seed around and call it good without a second thought given to the homeowner of their quality of work. Terrible company, horrible customer service, and unsatisfactory work. I would never voluntarily give them a dime of my money. Chad has no sense of honor, courage or commitment or pride in his business. If a man won’t stand behind his work and make it right when it isn’t, they should consider themselves a man nor should they run a business.
