  When I hired them to plow my driveway this Winter, the deal was they would come whenever there was 4 inches or more. While our Winter has not been severe, there have been several storms with 4+ inches of snow. They hardly ever show up, and when I ask them why, they say it was only an inch, when in fact, it was past my ankles wearing boots! When they do show up, the y leave horrible ruts of ice that are dangerous to walk on. When I complained and fired them, they sent me a nasty email and said I was not a good customer who complained all the time. Yes, because they are rude, not responsible, non-communicative, and arrogant. Don't use them! I found someone better for half the price.

  It is very unfortunate that we could not please this customer, as being a local family owned company we strive to give great service to everyone in the community. My guys get up every storm and go to work at midnight to keep everyone safe, sometimes working very long hours. This relationship did not work out well, and for that I can only apologize and say that we did our absolute best. My driver, who happens to be my son and has been plowing since he was old enough to do so, went to the customer's house every "storm" at least once, sometimes twice to check on the driveway because the customer explained that he had company quite often. We were not to plow unless there was at least 4 inches of snow, which unfortunately this year did not happen very often. Every time it snowed, we checked on the driveway and skipped it because there was less than an inch of snow, usually being able to see cement. On those occasions, we skipped all the other houses in the neighborhood that we maintain on a 2 inch minimum, as well as the business around the corner and a public school and bus garage down the street that we maintain for the public school system, which we plow at 1 inch to keep the kids safe. I do not know how I could have made this a better situation, but I apologize that it did not work out, and we will continue to improve and deliver the best service possible for all of southwest Michigan.

  Be careful with this lawn service. I hired them for mowing, which they did a nice job with. But then they keep doing extra trimming and yard work I did not ask for. In the spring they asked if I wanted a spring clean up, I said no but they did it anyway. Now this fall they asked if I wanted leaf clean up and again I said no, but they did it anyway.

  My apologies Glynn that you were unhappy with the billing. We at Evergreen Lawn Care & Landscaping pride ourselves in being a local family owned business providing great service here in Southwest Michigan. We waited as long as we could in the Spring to begin mowing because you were going to do the cleanup yourself. Eventually we had to begin mowing the second week of May to avoid getting a ticket from the City. We did need to remove the leaves to begin the season, and only charged you half the quoted price ($25). That was paid and we continued the season with no issues, mowing on a weekly basis. In the Fall, we waited again as long as we could for the final mowing, and had to remove the leaves again. I explained in a personal email that if we simply mowed the lawn there would be leaves blown in the neighbors landscaping and yard, as well against your house and landscaping. I charged you the bare minimum ($12.50) because it took us extra time to clean up the leaves. I made a judgement call for the health of your lawn as well as being a good neighbor. That is why I charged you only $12.50 for the final leaf cleanup. Again I apologize for any inconvenience, as we strive to deliver excellent service to everyone in the area.
