  Over the course of 6 hours, 5 men with shovels and a couple wheelbarrows dug a 60 foot by 3 foot swale and covered it with about 200 square feet of sod. They added some topsoil and seed to the excavated dirt and spread it around the eroded area of the lawn and covered with straw. They also used a few bags of mulch around the base of the trees. The actual laborers did a very nice job and I have it all recorded on camera. I let them dump all the rocks in the woods behind our house so they didn’t have to load up their truck. The $7,420 estimate seemed high at the time, but I was a bit sleep deprived and trusted the sales rep. I assumed they needed to bring in heavy equipment and would be grading more of the lawn. Since it was an estimate, I assumed they would correct it if they saved $5000 on the job. Nope! I should have been charged half of that cost. If you have a nice house, this company seems to thinks you should pay a 100% or 200% markup. And they RUN immediately to the bank to cash the check! They are the real greedy Grinch who stole my Christmas!

  Over the course of 2 full days, a crew of 4-6 workers from D&ES installed French drains on both left and right of my house. They tied four roof gutter drains to additional underground pipes parallel to the French drains. All the tubes emptied into large liriope beds on the downhill slope in the front of the house. They graded the soil and placed rocks around the exposed perimeter of the house to prevent water accumulation. They installed a drain system on the back right corner to capture overflow from the back porch. The work was covered with small stones and with large stepping stones to define a walking path. They saved all of my shrub and perennial plantings around the house and reinstalled some in the space remaining. I was very pleased with the work, and it looks beautiful. The overall cost was about $12K.

  We booked work with Drainage and Erosion Solutions for our back yard, lower level yard which was basically, dirt and a small slab patio. We experienced a high level of professionalism and courtesy from the owner to crew, throughout the process. The work was done in the promised two days (with a rain day in between) and not only was the end result functional (we are in a flood zone) but, aesthetically beautiful. We wished we had done this years ago! Thank you, Mark and crew for great work.
