Make sure if you use CC Lawn care you don't fall for their written estimates that reads "This is a loose price, we may be able to get this done for less, It will all depend on what we find when we dig these up" They were on time, three of them, started at 8 and were completely finished at 11, three hours (packed up and gone) I was charged $462 an hour and the more complicated work did not need to be done, in fact 4 repaired drain tiles were quoted and only 3 needed to be done. The only way it would have been easier is if they would have stayed in their truck. I was told landscape workers that have to dig are hard to find and that "we were on time" I have given CC Lawn Care every opportunity to work out a compromise that is acceptable for both parties but nothing but crickets?
Response from the owner
Thanks for your notes, Scott. Management sent a full breakdown and explanation to you on 9/13/21. To reiterate what was said in the email, the bill is not more than was bid because there was not further work to be done. It is not less because it took the allotted time as the bid put forth. Please keep an eye out for further communication from our office so we can get this resolved.

Country Club Landscaping did some things great, but they disappointed me by not following through with my requests. Below you will see a screen shot of the proposal Country Club gave me. The next section refers to the estimate I've posted in the photos. The landscaping was done fine, as well as the patio, which I love. Both 5 star work. The rest of this review will focus on the grading. “Grading the front and back yard” They did bring in black dirt, but it was not put over the whole yard, in fact it was only placed where the yard was low on the side - not in the front yard at all. The stump removers did most of this work of leveling the back. “Broadcast seed and rake in” They came and put seed down, but did not put it on the whole yard, it was just overseeded on top of the weeds that were already there. The seed they put was very low grade and it looks more like weeds than the lush lawn they promised me. The sheds were removed, the trees chopped down and the stumps were shredded as promised because I am honorable. During the walk through before the work began I stated many times that my elderly parents could not handle the yard work for many years and that is why it had mostly gone to weeds and I was looking forward to a yard without weeds. He assured me that would be the case. They did NOTHING to clear any weeds except in the flower beds. The day they finished the work I asked about the areas that didn’t have any seed or black dirt (but lots of weeds) and the men told me that is what they were instructed to do on their paperwork. After my persistence they came and sprayed for a few weeds on the part of the yard that wasn’t seeded - that worked quite well. That was the following day. Later that same day I finally received instructions on how to get my grass to grow. Then the wind came and blew a lot of the seed away. I added clean straw to the entire yard the 3rd day and that helped. Then I followed their instructions diligently and now, 4 weeks later I have some nice sprouts, more substandard grass, and TONS of creeping charlie, thistles and many more weeds. It looks horrendous! On the 1st or 2nd day a neighbor wrote a review and said they blocked their driveway. I never saw them block a driveway for more than a few seconds to remove their equipment. They even parked on the correct side of the street, but I didn’t watch them every minute.

Jill, thank you for taking the time to provide some feedback. We pride ourselves on completing work to the specifications set forth in our estimates. We are always happy to re-work estimates to alter the project, generally ahead of time, instead of the day of service. We were happy to come apply a round of fertilizer at no cost to you, as a happy medium between the grass seeding that was quoted, and the sod you requested the day of service. We're happy to hear you're pleased with the outcome of your patio and landscaping bed! We hope you enjoy your new areas as we move into what promises to be a hot summer. Thank you, Jill!

Unfortunately I have to change my previous review. While we remain happy with our paver patio, we can no longer recommend this business under any circumstance. In Sept 2020 we reached out to CC because we were noticing brown rings develop in our backyard. We asked for an assessment and they sent a bid for $517 for a 5 step fertilizer and weeding plan along with aeration and overseeding. We paid in full and treatments began. This Spring the problem became worse and we asked them to take another look. They blamed us for poor maintenance and told us it could take years to the correct the problem or we could lay new sod. We spent hours dethatching, seeding and watering to have our yard continue to deteriorate. We reached out again today and I had the unfortunate experience of talking to the owner Chris. Initially he reiterated the previous information. When confronted with the fact our yard was way worse and 517 dollars was paid he stated, “stop saying you paid 517. How much did you pay for that patio? 517 is nothing!” When I attempted to say I was a nurse (to make the point I do not have much disposable income) he stated, “ooooh you’re a nurse?!? You must think you’re soooo smart!” Keep in mind he said this while speaking in a condescending sing song voice that small children without coping skills use. He continued to tell me how I was talking down to him and when repeatedly asked how I was doing so, he stated “just by talking you are!” He would mimic and make fun of my voice every time I spoke and would not let me finish a single sentence. He repeatedly stated that we were to blame because we didn’t do the aeration and overseeding they recommended. When I could finally speak and stated we already paid for it and had it done, he then stated we hadn’t watered enough. When advised we did water he stated, “religiously? Because if I came out to your house right now, would I find the ground soft?” When advised yes and was told that watering appeared to make it worse he then became belligerent and threatening. I told him this business relationship was fractured beyond repair and I wanted no further assistance from him and had instead contacted another business. He stated, “go ahead, I know every business owner in this town.” I told him I was appalled by his behavior and would post this review, he stated, “oh yeah, I know you’re type. You’re just like the media aren’t you, only posting part of the story.” Following our call he then texted the following to my husband, “well will see you in court your wife likes to talk down to people not a good character trait.” His behavior was very misogynistic and troubling and at the end of the day, the pictures of our yard are proof. And I do have texts, emails and messages to back up everything in this post. In response to the message below. We never expected a 5 step fix. Our point was that we didn’t expect it to worsen as clearly dictated in our pictures. Multiple times we asked for assistance and multiple times were blamed for the worsening conditions, telling us it was normal after a harsh season, saying we need to water more (it made it worse) and telling us to aerate and overseed when it was already done. We’ve since had a treatment by another company for a terrible fungal infection of our yard with improvement already noted. They came out, listened, diagnosed, and provided the appropriate treatment. And we have not received our refund of 110 for the final treatment that was not performed. This was supposedly sent a week ago so we remain waiting.

*You cashed the check on 7/20/21. Please check your bank records as we did refund your money timely.* Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with our company. It is unfortunate that our original bid for an ongoing fertilizer program was misconstrued as a "5 step fix" for a yard in very bad shape. Nonetheless, we apologized multiple times (over the course of a couple of weeks) for the misunderstanding, and refunded your unused credit. Unfortunately, we continued to receive rude and threatening messages, so our company owner stepped in to put a stop to it. We have been - and will continue to be - an honest company who takes pride in our work.
