  Stood for 15 minutes in the lower dusty yard waiting for the guy with the forklift who sent me down there. Finally gave up, took some photos and walked to the office.The really nice young man with the accent was there but unfortunately he was busy and I got the misogynistic bored guy that hates his job. Less than helpful. Rude from start to finish. He told me to basically repeat the same process I had just been unsuccessful with. This is when the phase “spend your money wisely” kicks in. Dude, what? no walkie talkie or other device with which to communicate with? And he told me I could shovel 1.5” stone into bags or 5 gal buckets and then someone (what someone would that be?) would bring it to my car (eventually?) Is there a process for those that are unable to do that? I really hope that wasn’t the boss. All I wanted to do was buy a bit more of what we just bought or if they were out of it then something similar. I give 2 stars because the service was fine on the weekend otherwise I’d give them 1. Bad service on a Thursday, who would have thought? There are other rockeries and this one has just lost some customers. Really Central, some of your employees need training in customer relations. I am sure you know who they are.

  Hello Dee, I am sorry to hear that you had less than a stellar experience at our Santa Cruz branch. I am located at our Scotts Valley store, but will be sure to address the lack of service with my crew there promptly. Like many employers, we are currently having a difficult time hiring during this "full" economy which leaves us a little short handed, especially around the lunch hour. I will revisit the walkie talkie vs cell phones conversation to aid in customer service with the owners as well. While I am disappointed we fell short of our usually excellent service, I appreciate your feedback and welcome you to call me if there is anything else I can do earn back your valued business. As a family owned and operated company, we really do depend on word of mouth and repeat business, so I hope you might consider trying our quieter Scotts Valley branch at 180 El Pueblo Rd, I would be happy to show you around.
