  My partner and I recently moved to Santa Barbara from the Northeast (via Palm Springs). Our back yard was a blank slate after house renovations. We needed a design that would give us privacy, be sustainable and also beautiful. While we have gardened in Northeast, being new to SB, we didn’t really know the plants or the environment to design an entire garden. We selected Billy based on on-line reviews, and couldn’t be happier with the result. Billy is very knowledgeable, open to all suggestions, practical about garden use (privacy, entertaining, etc.) and maintenance. Most importantly he spent time understanding our vision for the garden and gave us a beautiful design. While he didn’t manage the garden construction he was quite involved. Especially appreciated his help with alternatives when some key plants weren’t available. The last thing I will say is that he is a nice guy as well.

  Billy Goodnick is an amazing resource. Our garden was a total makeover and it was selected for the annual Santa Barbara Beautiful Award for "Best Sustainable Landscape". Billy is fun to work with and he brings years of experience and excellent collaborative communication skills.

  Johnstance - As you're well aware, as much as I enjoy designing gardens in Santa Barbara, yours is something truly special in my years of enhancing local homes. Working with you two has been an act of love (and the occasional turkey sandwich and crunchy potato chips certainly adds to the specialness. Holler when you need another walkabout (but don't forget the Swiss cheese on rye and mustard only - NO MAYO!)

  Billy's great - friendly, easy to work with, full of ideas. Knows his plants. Always willing to check on how things are growing. His design really transformed our front yard. Highly recommended!
